Ethan Zohn Undergoes Stem-Cell Transplant

Zohn stem cell transplant

Ethan Zohn has returned to the same hospital wing where he first battled Hodgkin's lymphoma two years ago. This time, however, he's hoping to finally beat the disease for good.

The Survivor winner underwent a long awaited stem-cell transplant from his brother on Wednesday. Although he's expected to be in the hospital for the next 5 weeks, or at least until his immune system is fully functional, but the constant competitor is already challenging expectations.

His longtime girlfriend and fellow Survivor winner, Jenna Morasca, told sources:

"Ethan asked the doctor what was the record time for getting out of here, so he wants to beat that. His doctor said there was no prize, and Ethan said, 'Yes, there is. You're going to tell the other patients that I made it out in three weeks.'"

Ha! We wish him the best of luck with that, but more importantly, we just hope he gets better!

Until doctors are sure his body has accepted the stem-cells, Zohn will be under constant care in a room he refers to as his, "bubble." Anybody who is interested in his well-being can actually follow his progress on Twitter @EthansBubble, which the couple created for friends to tweet about the experience from a comical persepective, as Jenna explained:

"We don't know who is actually writing the Tweets, so it makes it really fun. It's all about thinking positively."

That's such an awesome idea!

Beyond silly social media to keep him company, Ethan will have Jenna by his side throughout most of his stay in the "bubble," as his overwhelmingly supportive girlfriend continued:

"I actually really like it, because he can't escape me. He's forced to be around me all the time and listen to everything I say. I'm like, 'What do you think of this hair?' and 'What about this lipstick color?' And he's over there pressing the pain medication pump button."

Aww! Such a cute, positive and loving couple! One can only hope to find a connection with another human being as strong as Ethan and Jenna's!

You'll be in our thoughts for the next few weeks! Good luck with the recovery!
