And why shouldn't they? There's been SO MUCH going on in the world these days!

For the first time in ten years, evening news broadcasts on NBC, ABC, and CBS have had a collective increase in viewers.

This shouldn't come as a total shocker though, given everything that's been going on in the news lately. We'd imagine the death of Osama bin Laden and the Royal Wedding probs helped bring in lots of viewers.

Here are a couple of noteworthy stats for evening news programs during this quarter:

Yikes!

The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric tied its all-time low in total viewers over the last five days bringing in only 4.89 million.

In comparison, NBC averaged 7.42 million and ABC with 6.51 million viewers.

What gives, Katie?
