Brad Pitt Has The Worst Memory; He Just Won't Remember You! Quote Of The Day!

Filed under: Brad PittQuote of the Day

brad pitt esquire magazine

"So many people hate me because they think I'm disrespecting them. So I swear to God, I took one year where I just said, This year, I'm just going to cop to it and say to people, 'Okay, where did we meet?' But it just got worse. People were more offended. Every now and then, someone will give me context, and I'll say, 'Thank you for helping me.' But I piss more people off. You get this thing, like, 'You're being egotistical. You're being conceited.' But it's a mystery to me, man. I can't grasp a face and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view. I am going to get it tested."

Animal Rights Activists To Take Action Against Anyone Who Tries To Transfer Beagles From Sweden To The UK!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueAnimal RightsDogCrazzzzyBeagle

This is NOT gonna be pretty!

A HUGE pharmaceutical company named AstraZeneca is planning on moving beagles from Sweden to the UK to test for new medicines… but animal rights activists are NOT gonna let that happen!!

The move is supposedly going to be clean and easy, but just knowing that a whole mess of doggies are gonna be shipped off just to be tested on doesn't sit well with the animal lovers.

In hopes to smooth things over, an AstraZeneca spokeswoman said:

Woody Harrelson was the driving force behind an initiative to get the army to stop using chimps in their experiments.

Now he has set his sights on California Senator Barbara Boxer, the chair of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

He wrote her a letter on PETA's behalf, asking her to join the over 160 senators and representatives who support the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act.

These acts would stop the use of chimps and other great apes in testing in the U.S. and save tax payers millions.

An excerpt from the letter reads:

Gossip Is Good For Your Mental Health

Gossiping is good for you

So this is why we do what we do! LOLz!

A study from the University of California, Berkeley has found that gossiping can LOWER stress, prevent exploitation others, and encourage policing the behavior of others.

Researcher Robb Willer, a social psychologist at the university, said in a statement:

"Spreading information about the person whom they had seen behave badly tended to make people feel better, quieting the frustration that drove their gossip."

To come to this conclusion, researchers used 4 experiments which included a game with a cheater who hoarded points.

The heart rates of those who weren't cheating increased when they witnessed the bad behavior, but then their heart rates relaxed when they shared what they had seen. In the experiment, gossip was used as a means to prevent the exploitation of others by warning participants that they could be taken advantage of.

In fact, the fourth experiment in the study demonstrated "that prosocial gossip can effectively deter selfishness and promote cooperation."

Ya hear that? PerezHilton.com is deterring selfishness and promoting worldwide cooperation! Ha!

Victory! 80 Monkeys Saved From Being Sent To Laboratory

80-monkeys-saved-from-china-airlines.jpg

Earlier, we told you about how PETA was fighting to stop 80 monkeys from being transported on China Southern Airlines to the U.S.

These unfortunate monkeys were going to be experimented on in Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories (SNBL) and Harlan Laboratories.

Thousands of e-mails were sent and hundreds of phone calls were made to the airline's L.A. office - and we're proud to say that PETA has won the battle. The airline has called off its plans to to ship the 80 monkeys.

Many animals, including monkeys, end up being subjected to cruel experiments every day. This is one small step in winning the fight against such horrible acts.

Way to go, PETA!

Lea Michele's Fights For Chimp Rights

So Inspiring!

Lea Michele is begging the US government to help Cammy, a chimpanzee being used in invasive experiments in a San Antonio laboratory.

Michele wrote a letter to the director to the National Institutes of Health saying:

“Cammy, one of the 14 chimpanzees moved to this Texas lab, was taken from her mom the day she was born. She was first traumatically sedated with powerful chemicals when she was only 6 months old. Chimpanzee experimentation raises some obvious ethical issues, and there are also clear scientific problems. That’s why most countries around the world no longer permit harmful research on chimpanzees.”

The Glee star wants all of these chimpanzees—who have been labeled the San Antonio 14—to be spared experimentation and sent to a sanctuary.
