For her new gig, the former editor-in-chief will play stylist and guest editor for the fall advertising campaign, catalog, mailers and the Madison Avenue windows.
Barneys creative director Dennis Freedman added Carine will also act as the department store's muse because her personal style reflects their customers. He explains:
"She has a unique and extraordinary personal style. She appeals to all ages. She is independent and strong, and yet she is completely feminine. She is a woman of the world, which we like to think our customer is, as well."
That also means Carine will be spending a lot more time in New York City, or as she calls it her "dream city".
Anna Wintour must be thrilled.
