aaron hernandez stands in witness box says he is not mentally ill

Time for an Aaron Hernandez update, y'all!!

The former New England Patriot was back in court in Fall River, Massachusetts today for a pre-trial hearing where his attorneys requested a gag order be put in place.

However, the most interesting part of the afternoon came when Aaron took the witness stand for the very first time in the high-profile court case!

After being sworn in, the judge hit him with a slew of yes or no questions, including whether or not he was under the influence or alcohol or drugs and if he had a history of mental illness.

Aaron confirmed that he is, in fact, NOT insane in the membrane and that he fully understands the situation that he's in.

The judge even made sure to remind him that if he IS found guilty of Odin Lloyd, that he would face life in prison with no parole.

Looks like Aaron will be sticking with his not guilty plea!

Aaron Hernandez appeared in court today in Fall River, Massachusetts where a Superior Court clerk officially read all of his charges in the murder investigation of Odin Lloyd.

The former New England Patriot faced six charges, which included murder and possession of weapons and ammunition, and he pleaded not guilty to all of them!

Aaron original pleaded not guilty when he was first charged with murder in district court, but he had a chance to change it during his arraignment. Seems like he and his attorneys are confident that he'll walk free because the defense attorney Charles Rankin said:

Aaron Hernandez's Cousin Faces Charges After Refusing To Testify

aaron hernandez cousin tanya singleton faces charges after refusing to testify

It sounds like Aaron Hernandez's legal issues are spreading out to his family.

The former New England Patriot's cousin Tanya Singleton was arrested and has been in custody since August 1st after she refused to testify in front of a Grand Jury in Aaron's case.

She was indicted on a criminal contempt charge for her refusal to testify and is expected to be arraigned later today in court in Fall River.

Some feel that Tanya is trying to protect Aaron, as she has a connection to Ernest Wallace, one of the men who was riding with him the night of the murder. Sources say she purchased him a bus ticket soon after Odin Lloyd was killed.

Tanya could be withholding some important information, and if she does eventually testify, there's a possibility it can lead to a huge breakthrough.

Aaron still needs to appear in court in the future for his arraignment, but a date still hasn't been set.
