Chronicle Director Will Be Guiding The Fantastic Four Back To The Big Screen

Fantastic Four reboot directed by josh trank

Fox was so pleased with the unconventional superhero movie Chronicle, that the studio wants director Josh Trank to tackle the Fantastic Four remake.

Despite the fact that the last movie hit theaters just five years ago, Fox plans on starting the franchise fresh with an entirely new cast.

We wonder if any of the newcomers in Trank's found-footage flick will be cast?

Alex Russell, the actor who played the surviving teenage protagonist in the director's feature debut, could potentially be a nice choice to replace Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, no?

human torch rip

So long, and thanks for all the flames!

After fifty years of bringing entertainment and flames to Fantastic Four fans everywhere, Marvel Entertainment has laid Human Torch/Johnny Storm to rest.

In the most recent issue of Fantastic Four, Torch dies in a massive battle, which writer Jonathan Hickman spent a year and a half working on.

Our thoughts are with Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and the Thing during this difficult time.

Introducing Marvel's Next Superhero…The Black Panther!

marvel making black panther movie

No, this isn't a gritty version of those silly Steve Martin detective movies…but it's probs almost time for them to reboot THAT franchise as well! LOLz.

Marvel Studios has begun development on their new film Black Panther. The story revolves around a "king of a resource-rich fictional African country who becomes a super hero."

For those of you out there who aren't up on your obscure-comic-book-character knowledge, the Black Panther first arrived in a 1966 Fantastic Four comic, and is renowned for being the "first black hero in mainstream comics."

Apparently, Columbia took a shot at a Black Panther movie in the early '90s with Wesley Snipes, but things didn't work out for the film or for Wesley.

Should be an inneresting project, especially because the writer, Mark Bailey, is known for his writing credits on documentaries including Pandemic: Facing AIDS and Ghosts of Abu Ghraib.

We're not sure exactly what to expect with this one, but our curiosity has been piqued.

Are U intrigued by the Black Panther?

Jessica Alba Vs. Screenwriter John August

jessica alba vs john august

We're not sure how popular this comment is going to make you, Jessica!

Here's what Jessica Alba has said about her thoughts on actors and scripts:

“Good actors never use the script unless it’s amazing writing. All the good actors I’ve worked with, they all say whatever they want to say.”

Here's what screenwriter John August had to say in response:

“I have to believe she was misquoted, or excerpted in some unflattering way … Oh, Jessica. Where to start? … Following your logic, you’ve never been in a movie with both good actors and amazing writing. That may be true, but it might hurt the feelings of David Wain, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. … Screenwriters can be your best friends. We are pushovers for attractive people who pay attention to us. I wrote that bathtub scene in Big Fish because Jessica Lange made brief eye contact with me. So if you’re not getting great writing — and honestly, you’re not — ask to have lunch with the screenwriter. I’ve seen you on interviews. You’re charming. That charm could work wonders.”

We must say, John August makes some valid points, and he DID write the screenplay for Big Fish, which was an excellent film.

Sorry to say it Jessica, but you DID act in Valentine's Day and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and The Eye and The Love Guru.

Maybe it's not a terrible idea to thumb through that screenplay, every once in a while. Just a thought!

Team August or Team Alba?

Vampire Bill In Talks To Play Dr. Doom In Fantastic Four Remake!

wenn2980302jb.jpg

WTF?

Why the EFF do they keep rebooting all of these relatively new superhero franchises?!

Granted, this one did suck pretty bad, but STILL!

As we've reported, Fantastic Four is the latest to get a brand new cast and flick, and is being re-worked with the name Fantastic Four: Reborn!

The new script is allegedly being written by Michael Green, who worked on Green Lantern, and there's quite a few names being thrown around to take on the heroes, none of which interest us!

It's the name associated with the villainous Dr. Doom that caught our attention today!

Sources are claiming that our beloved Vampire Bill, AKA Stephen Moyer, is up for the role!

Obviously, we think he's above this mess, but maybe he'll make it watchable! Unless they throw him in that douchey costume like they did to Julian McMahon! Update that design along with everything else, PLEASE!

What do U think?? Should Fantastic Four be remade??

UPDATE:

It's now being reported that Bruce Willis has been offered the part of The Thing! According to insiders, the character would be done in completely CGI, so Willis would only have to provide the voice of the character, with the exception of a brief, pre-credit sequence scene!

We still think it sounds lame! Ha!

Fantastic Four Reboot: Casting Rumors Commence!

adrienjonathane.jpg

Sorry, Ioan Gruffudd, but it looks like somebody else is going to take over the title of Mr. Fantastic.

As seems to be the case with every franchise these days, Fantastic Four is getting the reboot treatment, and the casting rumors have begun for some of the lead roles.

The top two contenders for Mr. Fantastic are Adrien Brody and Jonathan “Crazy Eyes” Rhys Meyers. Both certainly seem like intriguing picks for the lead character, but perhaps Brody comes across as a more likable superhero than troubled Rhys Meyers. Guess we’ll see.

As far as the Invisible Woman role is concerned, two names currently being thrown around are Alice Eve and Amber Heard.

Eve recently quit X-Men: First Class, so we only hope she’ll stick to her word if she lands this role. Her competition, Amber Heard, was also up for a role in the new X-Men, but she lost out to Jennifer Lawrence. Maybe you’ll have better luck this time, Amber!

The only other name floating around at the moment is Kevin Pennington, for the Human Torch role. Pennington is known for his 4-episode run on 90210, and he also played an uncredited party stud in the 2009 comedy Miss March.

We wish you all the best of luck but mostly Adrien Brody!

Are U on Team Brody or Team Crazy Eyes?
