This is absolutely devastating.
A family in Alberta, Canada is in mourning this week after losing three of their preteen daughters in a freak farming accident.
According to Police reports, Catie Bott, 13, and her 11-year-old twin sisters Dara and Jana were playing on a truck filled with canola seeds Tuesday night when all three fell in and instantly became trapped and sunk under the seeds.
Parents Roger and Bonita Bott tried to pull the girls from the grain, but they were buried too deeply to rescue.
Catie and one of the twins were pronounced dead on the scene due to suffocation, while the other sister was taken to a local children's hospital where she died early Wednesday morning.
The family issued a statement following the deaths saying that they did not regret raising their kids on a farm, but are obviously distraught at this unbelievably difficult time.
In addition to their parents, Catie, Dara, and Jana leave behind a younger brother named Caleb.
Rest in peace, girls.
