Nature's Recipe has voluntarily recalled its Oven Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken product due to possible salmonella contamination.
One of the company's U.S food plants is believed to be infected with salmonella, although neither the company nor the FDA will reveal the specific cause.
No humans or pets have gotten sick yet and there are no reported infections.
Thank goodness….

We can only imagine the complications that could occur if it didn't happen!
The European Union is moving closer toward a ban on cloning farm animals and a prohibition of imports of cloned livestock and their meat and milk.
We totally understand why! It still hasn't been perfected!
In January 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, after five years of research and deliberation, approved cloned animals and their offspring for consumption. Cloned animals are "as safe to eat as food from conventionally bred animals," the FDA's report said.
Yet, the UE feels that it is not yet a safe source of meat and dairy. While cloned animals develop inside the uterus, they grow extremely quickly and have a high abnormality rate.
The UE feels that because of this abnormality rate, the products from cloned animals are not yet safe for consumption.
It's still up in the air with who is right, the UE or the USFDA.
We understand the hesitation behind using cloning as a food source, but at the same time we completely see how and why it could be a good thing for the world.
What do U think about the whole issue?

It's best to pay full price for some things in life, and this is def one of those things!
The FDA has issued a consumer alert, warning pet owners about purchasing discounted pet drugs online.
Here are some of the main points presented by the FDA:
-Legit companies require a veterinarian prescription note for drugs
-Online companies will sometimes sell expired, unapproved, and counterfeit products
-Frequent use of nonsteroidal anti-flammatory drugs (pain relievers) can cause internal bleeding problems for pets
-Heartworm drugs given to dogs that are infected with parasites can lead to serious complications
-If you are going to buy pet drugs online, only do so at sites that are Vet-VIPPS accredited pharmacy sites
As a general rule, do the right thing and make sure to take your pet to the veterinarian.
Ordering pet drugs online is just not worth the risk!

How does genetically engineered fish sound to you? Good enough to eat?
That's what engineers who are working on creating larger salmon hope.
The FDA will soon decide on whether to approve restaurants and supermarkets to sell genetically altered salmon.
The fish, called Aqua Advantage, would become the first genetically engineered animal sold for consumption. The modified salmon was created to grow twice as large as fresh salmon.
Also, the FDA did find that the altered fish is safe to eat, but if allowed for sale, the new fish would not require a special label telling you it's been altered.
Even if it is safe to eat, we think people should be warned. The same way a lot of items are labeled as organic, the altered salmon should be labeled at genetically altered.
Would U be OK eating a genetically altered fish? Thoughts?
