4 Tips For A Dog-Friendly Thanksgiving

For those of you who are doing a traditional Thanksgiving feast (even though there are just as tasty vegan options if you're interested) there are some things NOT to feed your dog, as well as some tips to make the most of the Thanksgiving feast for you pet pooch.

1. No Table Scraps. Turkey, basted in fats, the crispy skin, mashed potatoes with thick gravy, stuffing, and pretty much everything else on your table is actually not good for your dog. So watch those table scraps.

2. Watch For Begging. Even though the only way to stop begging would be to keep your dog out of the room, there is a little tip to help. Keep healthy dog treats on the table so when they come begging, you can treat them with a healthy trick!

3. Special Dog Dinner If you want to include your dog, you can remove the skin from a turkey leg, simmer it on the stove top, remove the bones, and serve it to your doggie alongside the family. Make sure to let it cool sufficiently before serving it.

4. Post-Dinner Walk All that turkey and food is gonna make you tired after the feast but you should take your dog for an after-meal walk. It'll help you burn the calories and you can make it a nice treat for them. Go further than normal, take a different route, treat your doggy, be thankful for their love, and burn some calories too!

Follow these easy tips and everyone, especially your doggy, will have a happy and healthy holiday feast!
