The Fight For Same Sex Marriage In Georgia Is Heading To Federal Court!

georgia gay same sex marriage constitutional ban challenged federal lawsuit

Georgia is one of 31 states that currently has a constitutional ban on same sex marriage. But will it hold up in court??

A gay rights group called Lambda Legal filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday morning on behalf of seven people; it challenges Georgia's prohibition on same sex marriage AND lack of recognition of other states' same sex marriages.

The constitutional amendment was passed in 2004 and after two years of challenges from gay rights groups, the state Supreme Court ruled in 2006 that the measure was valid.

The lawsuit explicitly points out that this ban is on the wrong side of history, stating:

Fat Joe Turns Himself Into Jail For Tax Evasion!

And for Fat Joe's next magic trick, he turned himself into…jail! Hmm well, that was anti-climactic, and hardly magical.

Fat Joe officially checked himself into the custody of the Federal Detention Center in Miami today, where he will serve the next 4 months!

Pro: it's in Miami! Yay! Con: it's a jail in Miami. Boo!

As we reported earlier, the rapper pleaded guilty to shortchangin' the IRS over $1 millon (cue: Dr. Evil laugh) in taxes during the years of 2007 and 2008.

In addition to those 4 months, which was reduced down from a two year sentence, Fat Joe will have to play a $15,000 fine, and face a one-year supervised release.

And more likely than not, he'll have to sign up for a membership to turbotax.com.

We hope these next four months make Fat Joe realize that although filing your taxes can be a pain, it's an even bigger one not to do it. Unfortunately, unlike Monopoly, there is no Get Out Of Jail Free card.

Mediation Fails! NHL Talks End Again With No Progress!

We already gave up hope a while ago… and nothing has changed.

It's really just looking like there is no way any sort of a season could be held.

The NHL and the Player's Association entered into talks again, this time with federal mediators.

There were two days of face-to-face talks between the NHL and the NHLPA. They first met separately with the mediators, and then together.

So… how did things go?!

Jerry Sandusky's New Mugshot!

We previously mentioned Jerry Sandusky, monster/pedophile/felon, was transferred from county jail to a state prison in PA where his newest mugshot (above) was taken.

The transfer was yesterday morning and he'll be spending some time at the current prison while waiting to be placed in his final destination.

We can't tell if he's smiling or just confused as to when they were going to take the pic but either way, we don't care.

We're just glad to see him in orange.

Insane Clown Posse Is Suing The FBI For Labeling Their Fanbase A 'Gang'

The only thing more entertaining than watching the Insane Clown Posse dissect Call Me Maybe or rap about Miracles will probably be to watch them try to sue the FBI in a court of law.

Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope filed a lawsuit against the Federal Bureau of Investigation this week because their fan base — commonly called Juggalos — has been labeled as a "loosely-organized hybrid gang."

Apparently, getting wasted in the middle of nowhere while throwing beer bottles at Charlie Sheen during the annual Gathering of the Juggalos qualifies them as "a criminal organization formed on the street." That's what the FBI's 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment report determined anyway.

Well, ICP and their fans

Dear New Hampshire…THIS SUCKS!

new-hampshire-license-to-discriminate-bill-hearing

Yuck. So much for the "live free" portion of the state slogan.

New Hampshire's House Judiciary Committee held a hearing last night regarding HB 1264, which is a bill that would allow businesses that do not support marriage equality to DENY services to same-sex couples - or any kind, for that matter - based on their religious values, AND would protect them from a civil claim of action for such!

It reads:
