In the upcoming film, Friends With Benefits, at least.
Shaun White was asked by producers of the new comedy to let loose and "flip out" on Justin Timberlake during his cameo.
The pro snowboarder and skateboarder says of his first film role:
"Generally, I'm a pretty mellow guy, but they wanted me to lose it in this role, really flip out. I was like, 'OK, cool.'"
Although the extreme sport's star is no stranger to the camera, he felt he needed some help to come out of his shell and hired an acting coach to put his anger to the test on the streets of NYC, explaining:
"There I am on this street corner shouting these threats. And (my coach) is coming right back at me like he's just as mad. People are looking over like, 'Is that Shaun White?'"
That must have been a sight to see! Maybe a few of those people will put two and two together when they see him on the big screen across from JT this Friday.
Despite his training, Shaun admits there is a big difference between filming a scene for a movie and watching one, saying:
"They cut the music for sound quality and I'm an inch from Justin Timberlake, screaming at his face. I am shouting these threats at him, and it's dead silence with people pretend-dancing to no music. I thought, 'This is getting awkward.'"
Awkward is funny! We're definitely looking forward to watching Shaun unleash his inner beast on poor Justin!
