Jodi Arias Convicted Of First-Degree Murder! Jury Returns Unanimous Decision

jodi arias murder

It's been a LONG time coming, but justice has finally been served!

Jodi Arias —who killed her one-time boyfriend, Travis Alexander, over 5 years ago— was convicted of first degree murder this afternoon and will now face the possibility of the death penalty.

Jodi only admitted earlier this year that she shot, nearly decapitated, and then stabbed her lover 27 times on June 4, 2008 after initially blaming his death on masked home invaders.

While the prosecution painted the pretty 32-year-old brunette as a spiteful ex who calculated her revenge out of jealousy, Jodi claimed she murdered Travis out of self defense.

When she testified, Jodi insisted that Travis was a "bully," but she couldn't quite piece together what happened during the kill, with various changes in her story throughout the trial.

12 jurors deliberated and came to the unanimous decision after listening to testimony throughout the week.

The aggravation trial will begin tommorow to determine whether or not Jodi will in fact get the death penalty.

Do we sense a Lifetime sequel on the horizon?

Making a final appeal to the court, Drew Peterson screamed:

"I did not kill Kathleen!"

The judge did not believe him.

Convicted last September of murdering ex-wife Kathleen Savio, the ladykiller was sentenced today to 38 years in prison.

Ugh. The whole situation is unfathomably tragic.

Thankfully Drew won't be a threat to any other young women for a long, long time.

The first court appearance for 'suspected' Dark Knight shooter James Holmes took place this morning in a Colorado court, presided over by honorable Judge William B. Sylvester.

As was rumored, James' hair IS dyed orange-red, in similar fashion to the acid-green locks of the Joker character from Batman fame.

After reading James his rights, the judge told the unresponsive Holmes he will likely be charged with first degree murder for killing 12 people, which could result in the death penalty.

James is being held without possibility of bail and has been told he cannot contact the victims of the fatal, movie theater shooting that took place early Friday morning.

Joran Van Der Sloot Formally Charged For Stephany Flores Murder

joran van der sloot charged in stepheny flores murder

One step closer to justice!

To recap, Joran van der Sloot is in jail for a first-degree murder charge in the death of Stephany Ramirez Flores, and he is the prime suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance case.

Back in April, he was accused of stabbing three fellow inmates in his Peruvian jail, and he "burst out laughing" when he heard the accusations.

Then back in June, Joran appeared in Peruvian court for a hearing regarding the Stephany Flores murder case.

Now, he's been FORMALLY charged with first-degree murder in the Flores case, and Peruvian prosecutors are seeking a 30-year jail sentence and damages of more than $70,000. The trial is expected to begin this October.

As we've said many times before, we absolutely still believe that Joran is a monster, and we truly hope that he is appropriately punished for his horrific crimes.

Joran Van Der Sloot Laughs Off Accusation Of Prison Stabbings

joran van der sloot laughs off prison stabbing accusations

Of course this monster would laugh about something so serious!

As a reminder, Joran van der Sloot is in jail for a first-degree murder charge in the death of Stephany Ramirez Flores, and he is the prime suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance case.

Earlier this week, Van der Sloot was accused of stabbing three fellow inmates in his Peruvian jail, and given his violent history, it definitely seemed like it could be true.

Now, Joran's lawyer Maximo Altez Navarro is saying that his client "burst out laughing" after hearing the new accusations against him.

Here's what Navarro had to say about it:

“Joran is doing okay – he burst out laughing when I told him about the story."

“The truth is he gets on with the other inmates and prison officers – he is the most famous prisoner in Peru. He is even teaching the other inmates and prisoners English and he is quite popular actually."

“These stories are only coming-out to discredit him because of the cases he is involved with. Joran is a good guy. He goes to church and likes to exercise and read while he regularly talks with his mother on the phone."

“He is not even housed with the general prison population; he’s kept with five other prisoners in a special unit where he has his own cell.”

He's a good guy? Sorry, we're not buying that, and we're still not convinced that he had nothing to do with these stabbings.

Guess we'll see what happens, but we don't trust Joran one bit, and we still believe he is a monster.
