In what's just the latest in a series of never-ending violence against zoo animals, Pinky the Flamingo from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay was put down on Tuesday after she was randomly attacked by a park visitor.
According to witnesses, Joseph Anthony Corrao, 45, allegedly reached over Pinky's fence, grabbed her by the neck, and forcefully threw her to the ground at 6:45 p.m. EST… for no apparent reason!
While the Chilean dancing flamingo did not die upon impact, park veterinarians had no choice but to euthanize her due to her injuries being too severe.
The park released a statement remembering Pinky shortly after her death, saying:
