There is at LEAST once a week that we're thanking the powers that be for Howard Stern!!
It seems like he's just automatically the kind of person that can get any info from someone, like James Franco for instance. He's been pretty tight-lipped about his Oscar hosting flop. Leave it to Howard to get him talkin'!
Here's what James said said:
Sorry! If you're not an Academy Award nominated film or starring Melissa McCarthy, movie-goers just are NOT interested in watching you this year!
Well, scratch that…sort of!
Although Identity Thief has done so well that after a month of release, it's made $100 million domestically and become 2013's first blockbuster, it was bumped from the number one spot in the weekend box office by none other than Jack the Giant Slayer!
However, even though Bryan Singer's fantasy epic came in on top, it's still considered a financial flop, as it cost nearly $200 million to make and only brought in about $28 million in its premiere weekend!
Of course, it still fared better than
The Hangover with college kids 21 and Over, which made $9 million, as well as Ed Harris and David Duchovny's Phantom, which became the 15th worst debut for a film that opened on at least 600 screens!
How bad does that make it?
The submarine thriller was released to 1,100 theaters, yet still only made $465,000!
Again with the OUCH!
In retrospect, we think the team behind Jack should be counting their blessings that they managed to make what they made! It is ROUGH out there!
Ch-ch-check out the full, abysmal box office top ten this weekend….AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Oh Honey-pie, you'll always be OUR baby!
But apparently, Mariah Carey's newest track Triumphant (Get 'Em) ft. Rick Ross is not beloved, at least not enough to feature on any major music chart!
The Mistress of melodious runs just released the mediocre tune (well THREE versions of it, actually), but unfortunately, Triumphant only sold 23,000 downloads its first week, which is sadly NOT enough to debut in the Billboard Hot 100.
And while girl was in the lower half of the iTunes top 100 for a hot second, Mariah's new track is now nowhere to be seen.
UGH, major sadface you guys!
Ah well, you sell some, you flop some, right MiMi?!
We're sure this is just a minor
comeback setback and once you flap those butterfly wings on Americon Idol this fall, everyone will forget about this musical indiscretion and they'll bask in your glittering glow once more!

Sometimes, all it takes is one epic bust!
Walt Disney Studios Charmain, and former President of Disney Channels Worldwide Rich Ross has reportedly been canned from his current position, which he's held since 2009, after the $200 million flop that was John Carter landed itself as one the worst film failures in Hollywood history.
In a statement he sent out to his staff yesterday, Ross writes:
For the last 15 years, I have had the opportunity to work with incredibly talented people on behalf of the world’s best loved brand. During that time, we’ve told some amazing stories around the world, created successful TV programming, movies, and franchises that generated new opportunities for the company in the process.
I’ve always said our success is created and driven by our people – whom I consider to be the absolute best in the business. But, the best people need to be in the right jobs, in roles they are passionate about, doing work that leverages the full range of their abilities. It’s one of the leadership lessons I’ve learned during my career, and it’s something I’ve been giving a great deal of thought to as I look at the challenges and opportunities ahead.
I believe in this extraordinary Walt Disney Studios team, and I believe in our strong slate of films and our ability to make and market them better than anyone else. But, I no longer believe the Chairman role is the right professional fit for me. For that reason, I have made the very difficult decision to step down as Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, effective today.
It has been my honor to work with such incredible teams – at Disney Channels Worldwide and The Walt Disney Studios and the many other Disney businesses I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with. I know I leave the Studios in good hands and, even on separate paths, I am confident we are all destined for continued success.
Such a shame that it he has to end his run with the company this way - especially as he was also responsible for the monster successes of Hannah Montana and High School Musical!
But that's the nature of the beast, we suppose - you just never know what's going to blow up and make tons of money, and what's going to end your career in a matter of days!
Best of luck, Rich! You're in our thoughts!

After last night's flop of a jive, we'd bet our bottom dollar on it!
So far, Nancy Grace has done pretty on Dancing With The Stars competition. She's proven she has some moves, she has some groove, but last night, it seemed like she lost all of her basic motor function. We think it happened sometime between putting on those fake, gaudy, red eyelashes and the devil getting down to Georgia.
Check out her performance from last night's DWTS and see if you think she'll be making it to the next round! (above)
Uh-oh! They're already doing damage control!
Columbia Records is reportedly concerned with Beyoncé, because her latest album, 4, isn't as commercial and radio-friendly as they'd like it to be, and she's refused to make any alterations or record new material!
And apparently, they think that the solution to rejuvenating her career is to reunite Destiny's Child!
