In Shanghai, China a sixth person has died from a new bird flu strain and eight others are sick!
The same day of the death, a Shanghai market detected bird flu in a pigeon and began slaughtering all of the birds.
That's just awful!
Over 20,000 chickens, ducks, geese and pigeons were all killed!

We're still in flu season in the U.S. and just because a dog can't tell you their nose is stuffy, doesn't mean they can't get sick.
Did you know that pets can actually get sick from us?? Even from the flu!
Good thing Dr. Patrick Mahaney is here with some wonderful tricks for keeping your pet happy and healthy:
Do you realize human influenza virus can transmit to pets? Are you taking precautions to prevent transmission of zoonotic disease (those capable of interspecies transmission).
Considering that people can be infected regardless of vaccination status and that not everyone will be immunized, it’s important that we recognize the potential for humans to pass a microorganism like the influenza virus to our pets. Yes, your dog or cat could contract the flu from you.

Anne Hathaway might’ve gotten blasted on Twitter over yet another win at the BAFTA Awards this past weekend, but it seems she got booed as well!
Mz. Hathaway explained to Jay Leno last night on The Tonight Show that she was “so late” for the show, that she was forced to zoom right by reporters on the carpet!
Not only that, but as Anne added:
“The worst part was, I missed the fans. They're out in the cold and the rain and the sleet, and they booed me. I got booed, my dress ripped and I had the flu."
Ouch! Not as glamorous as one would expect from such a celebratory night!
However, Anne still

This is AH-MAYZING!
It may be flu season, but according to reports, the illness has decreased throughout the nation!!
On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed:
"Influenza activity remained elevated in the United States, but decreased in most areas."
Currently, 38 states shared that influenza was lingering around, but this is really good news because only a week ago, 42 states reported the illness.
However, with the flu decreasing in numbers, "pneumonia and influenza (P&I) was above the epidemic threshold."
With that said, anyone who is suffering from the flu virus should make their way over to the doctor because even though the numbers are down, it's best to catch the bug upfront before it turns into a monster! LOLz

That flu has just been such a bitch!
And with California getting hit with it extra hard this year, even movie stars are succumbing to its nasty reaches.
Burt Reynolds had to get his legendary ass to the ICU earlier this week after suffering severe dehydration.
But luckily, his fever has broken and he now travels to the not-so-scary wing of the hospital.
We're still hearing he should make a full recovery. Phew!
