Now that he's an Golden Globe nominated director, Ben Affleck is just too cool to playing opposite a Twilight star!

Benny has just quit Kristen Stewart's next project, Focus.

Sources say Affleck "very much wanted to do the film, the timing just couldn't be worked out." But we know the truth!

Now that Agro his a shoe-in for an Oscar nod, Ben thinks he too big for a romcom. :P

Oh, well. At least he gave Warner Bros PLENTY of time to find a replacement. Focus doesn't go into production until this Spring.

Guess the rumors were TRUE!

We reported last month that Kristen Stewart was in talks to appear as Ben Affleck's love interest - and seXXXy-timez partner - in a soon-to-go-into-production comedy called Focus, and now, the Twilight starlet has confirmed the news HERSELF!

She recently revealed:

"I can confirm that rumor. It's a comedy. I'm really excited about it. We start shooting in April. [I] would love to find some micro-project before then, because April is kind of a ways away."

But that's not all we know now about this mystery project!

Apparently, the film focuses on the actress as "an inexperienced con artist who hooks up with the more seasoned Affleck," and will be written and directed by Crazy, Stupid, Love's Glenn Ficarra and John Requa!

Inneresting, indeed!

Especially because we're not used to seeing our KStew take on comedy!

Well. INTENTIONAL comedy, anyway!

But she's got a solid team around her, so we're confident that despite some occasional lip-biting, this might actually be VERY good!

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling already have two on-screen hook-ups under their belts, but there won't be a third just yet.

Both actors have dropped out of a film called Focus which would have featured them playing two grifters who fall in love, but get torn apart by the perilous business they engage in to earn a living.

Such a bummer because the drama comes from the same guys who directed the pair in Crazy, Stupid, Love so it would have been magic all over again!

Despite the casting trouble though, the Warner Bros. project isn't dead. Now Ben Affleck is in talks to take over for Gosling, but no word on what lucky lady will take over Mz. Stone's part.
