Nicole Scherzinger has said that she wants children, and may go to extreme measures to protect her right to have kids later in life.

This is a weird announcement to make…to your parents….on television.

But hey, who are we to judge?

Maria Menounos announced to both Dr. Drew and her parents that she's planning for her future by freezing her eggs.

Making the announcement on Dr. Drew's Lifechangers (above), Maria said:

"I'm 33 and I decided that I know that I have a couple of years of work I want to get to and then do it. I figured this is kind of an insurance policy. To a degree. To protect myself, from when I want to do it when I'm older."

Maria said she made the decision because she wants to make sure she has "no problems down the line."

That's actually pretty smart of her. You never know when the right time will come along.

You're still young though, Maria! You won't have to worry about for a while…
