Well, now we understand EVEN MORE why New York called for a nationwide salt reduction back in October.

According to a new study by New York's health department, NY residents consume, on average, double the amount of salt that is recommended per day (3,150 mg vs. 1,500 mg).

The NY health department is calling the number "alarmingly high," and they're saying that only 1 in 5 New Yorkers are consuming the recommended amount of salt per day. Wow!

Fortunately, companies are listening and have agreed to lower the amounts of salt in their foods. Here are some of the companies who have made this pledge:

Bertucci's Italian Restaurant, Black Bear European Style Deli, Campbell Soup Company, Dietz & Watson, Ken's Foods, Snyder's-Lance, Inc., & Target Corporation

Sounds good to us!

And to all the New Yorkers out there - We've been there and we get it, but please keep all of this in mind next time you're debating whether or not those french fries are already sufficiently salted…

At the end of a hard weekend, sometimes all it takes is a bag of french fries to make a normal man start swinging a mop at McDonald’s employees.

On Sunday, when a man in Ohio felt that his fries weren’t fresh enough, he told the McDonald’s employee that he wanted him to make a new batch. The employee refused, so the man struck him with a mop.

That’s when the police were called.

Amazingly, the employee didn’t file charges and just gave the man his money back.

We’re guessing he probably made a stop at Burger King on the way home.

We kid, but violence is never the answer!

We wouldn't expect any less from her! Gotta try the cultural cuisine!

Lady GaGa recently enjoyed some authentic French cuisine while visiting the Parisian restaurant Chez Andre during her time in the City of Lights, when she ordered escargot - along with chicken and french fries!

But she didn't indulge completely! She did not order dessert or alcohol, and drank only water.

A staffer reveals that the pop star arrived with three bodyguards, but displayed absolutely no diva behavior during her meal, and instead was very sweet! After dining, she kissed the manager good-bye and left a "very, very generous tip."

That's our gurl!
