Estate Of Late Musician Alleges Justin Timberlake & Will.i.am Ripped Off A Song For Futuresex/Lovesounds!
Is this Blurred Lines all over again?!
Almost a year after a judge ruled that Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams ripped off Marvin Gaye for their popular hit, the estate of another late musician is alleging similar claims against Justin Timberlake and Will.i.am.
According to the sister of late funk musician Perry Kibble, Justin and Will's Futuresex/Lovesounds song Damn Girl is eerily similar to her brother's song A New Day Is Here At Last.
For those who don't know, Kibble was a member of the Taste of Honey band and went on to win a Grammy for best new artist in 1978. Sadly, the icon passed away in 1999.
As for Perry's sibling, in 2015 she says she first noticed similarities between DG and ANDISHAL, claiming that part of the drum, conga drum, organ, bass guitar, electric guitar, AND saxophone parts were all stolen. She also says J.T. ripped off the rhythm, harmony, melody, and hook.
We guess we'll have to wait and see what a judge says, because as of now, the musical duo has yet to comment.
Tell us if U hear any similarities (below)!!!
