Oksana Grigorieva only wanted to plant a tree.

Instead of a tree, though, she inadvertently planted the idea into Mel Gibson’s head that she was flirting with the gardener, which caused Mel to storm off his own property.

Following the incident, the craziness ramped up, and Mel began to call Oksana repeatedly.

According to sources, Oksana’s mother was the one who recommended she record the calls, just in case anything happened to her or her daughter.

A source had the following to say about Oksana’s original intentions with the recordings:

"At that time, all that was on her mind was trying to protect him. She didn't want anyone to know what he had done."

Even if your intentions were always to release the recordings, we’d still back you up, Oksana. It seems like Mel gets crazier by the millisecond!
