Minnesota State Senators warmed our hearts today by passing a measure allowing same-sex couples to marry!

The Land of 10,000 Lakes lawmakers voted 37 to 30 in favor, and the Governor is expected to sign it into law tomorrow!! Better late than never!!

State Senator John Marty, a democrat, was pleased as punch by the result.

He said:

“These families deserve the same rights and recognitions that we do. It’s finally happening."

We agree 100% and we couldn't be more thrilled!!

Minnesota, the birth place of Prince, becomes the 12th state in the Union to take this grand step toward LGBT equality!

Now everyone can purify themselves in the waters of Lake Minnetonka regardless of sexual orientation, LOLz!!

Gay Man Dragged Away From Partner's Hospital Bed Because Missouri Doesn't Recognize Civil Unions

gay man lovers side hospital handcuffed dragged away missouri sad same sex marriage

Reason #72,831 why all couples in love should be afforded the right to marry:

Police were called when Roger Gorley refused to leave the bedside of his sick partner, Allen, in a Missouri hospital on Tuesday — cops sided with Allen's family because he and Roger were unmarried.

The cops put Roger in handcuffs, escorted him off the hospital grounds, and even issued a restraining order against him — all because he wanted to be near the man he's been in a civil union with for five years.

Roger and Allen even filled out paperwork legally allowing them to make medical decisions for one another, but none of those documents mattered when Allen's family and the hospital forced Roger to leave.

After being dragged from his lover's bed, Roger sadly admitted:

Has nobody really considered this before? It would be television GOLD!

Unkle Karl always has something inneresting or controversial to say, thanks very much to the lack of filter in his brain.

In a recent interview, the Chanel designer gives us even more thoughts on the ever-present gay marriage issue AND he talks about dressing Kim Kardashian.

Well, sort of.

facebook twitter gay marriage debate pink red equal signs human rights campaign supreme court

Don't adjust your browsers, dear readers — neither Facebook nor Twitter are broken!

You probably woke up to pink and red equal signs taking your social media outlets by storm this morning, but fear not because it's all for a totally awesome cause!!

The US Supreme Court spent Tuesday dragging its feet while listening to arguments for and against gay marriage, but there are millions of people who refused to let their voices go unheard!!

In an effort to bring awareness to the critically important battle to allow all couples who love each other the right to marry, the miracle workers over at the Human Rights Campaign are encouraging EVERYONE — us, you, your crazy uncle who doesn't like kids walking on their lawn — to replace their profile pics with these pink and red equal signs for these next few critical days.

This is pretty much the greatest idea since

Supreme Court Appears Split On Same Sex Marriage Debate!

gay marriage supreme court oral arguments debate

We remain forever optimistic that the world will wake up one day soon and realize all couples in love deserve the right to marry!

Sadly, that day wasn't today!

The Supreme Court heard arguments this morning on the constitutionality of same-sex marriage and California's super icky Proposition 8 law, which aims to suppress the rights of gay couples.

As thrilled as we are that the government is taking the discussion of equal rights seriously, there wasn't exactly any consensus on what to do between the Justices.

According to some experts, it looks like the courts may strike down Prop 8, but do so in a way which would NOT broadly affect any other states and not really further the cause of allowing ALL couples to marry regardless of sexual orientation.

In short, there seem to be

In our political climate right now, we're getting more and more excited about the number of people holding government positions who are publicly supporting gay rights and gay marriage! To us, it's reflecting a shift in not only the beliefs within the offices held, but also a shift in how those beliefs are handled!

Being loud and proud about your view to support equality is the best way, because you're not cowering in fear of losing votes by standing up for your fellow humans! This is why we're applauding Senator Claire McCaskill!
