Gay Sportswriter Thanks Brendon Ayanbadejo

Filed under: Gay Gay GayFootballSuper Bowl

Ever since he won the Super Bowl, Brendon Ayanbadejo's soap box has gotten a lot taller.

Now he can reach more people and spread his most important message: Homophobia in pro sports needs to stop.

He is a straight man, who all on his own took up the fight for LGBT equality in sports.

Chuck Culpepper is a gay sportswriter who is a self-proclaimed "exotic creature" as an aforementioned "gay male sportswriter."

He was also lucky enough to be able to cover the Super Bowl and interview the players before the game.

While in the Ravens' locker room, he spotted a player that he didn't immediately recognize, but after learning who he was, had to go speak to him.

That player was Brendon Ayanbadejo.

Culpepper knew he wanted to talk to him, but didn't know how to handle it. He walked up to Brendon and said the whole interview went a little like this:

Brendon Ayanbadejo is a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens and one of the most outspoken gay rights activists in professional sports.

First, let us say congrats on winning the Super Bowl!!

Second, being a straight pro athlete and "coming out" as a supporter of gay rights must be hard to do.

But Brendon knows that coming out as openly gay would be even harder for a player due to the generally homophobic atmosphere that dominates pro sports.

Despite Obama's Speech, White House Maintains That Marriage Is Not a Federal Issue (Bullshizz!)

Marriage is everyone's issue, because there are humans out there not getting equal rights reflected by the government (be it federal or state). If you love humanity, this is your issue.

Obama's inaugural speech yesterday blew us away, especially when he spoke about gay marriage in a way that filled the community with hope and pride. Unfortunately, the White House seems to be less adamant about granting a right that everyone should have.

If you don't recall, the President said that:

"Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well."

Seeeeeriously, that's amazeballs!

Enter White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, who is becoming the nation's largest c*ckblock. Here's what HE said when asked about it:

President Obama's Inauguration Speech Encourages Equality, Fairness, Acceptance As The Means To Peace & Prosperity! WATCH HERE!

Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikInspirationBarack ObamaPerezTV

Our heart swelled while watching President Obama's inauguration speech.

Not only did the President touch upon important issues such as poverty, economy, democracy, international relations, healthcare, conflict, climate change, and equal rights, he also emphasized the fact that only through COMMUNAL effort can we begin to address some of the problems involved in the aforementioned topics.

Obama urged Americans to set aside petty, superficial differences to ensure a peaceful future for our children…

AND he is the first president to EVER address gay rights during an inaugural speech!

We are an awe-inspiring country despite prevalent intolerance, greed, and selfishness. Imagine what we could achieve if we appreciated and loved one another as HUMAN BEINGS?!

Listen to Obama's wise words (above) and then ponder over some insightful excerpts …AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Uganda's Disgusting ‘Kill The Gays’ Bill To Become Law Next Month

Filed under: Gay Gay GayLegal MattersSad Sad

uganda-kill-the-gays-bill-made-law

This is criminal, unjust, horrifying and it's actually happening this year. We are stunned.

Despite international criticism, Ugandan Speaker Rebecca Kadaga (above) says her country's "Kill The Gays" Bill will become law by December because most Ugandans "are demanding it."

The law will redefine the criminalization of same-sex relationships by dividing homosexuality into two categories (aggravated homosexuality and the offense of homosexuality), and assigning new, outrageous penalties to these "crimes."

"Aggravated homosexuality" is defined as gay acts committed by parents or authority figures, HIV-positive people, pedophiles and repeat offenders. If convicted, they will face the death penalty.

"Offense of homosexuality’" includes same-sex sexual acts or being in a gay relationship, and will be prosecuted by life imprisonment.

Several European countries have threatened to cut aid to Uganda if it passes. Still, somehow the Speaker considers the passage of this Bill a "Christmas gift" to the population.

How the majority of a nation could approve these laws is beyond our comprehension.

Our whole hearts go out to Uganda’s LGBT community. Their story is truly tragic.

And the hits keep on coming for the Boy Scouts of America.

As the organization continues its sad and hurtful ban of gay boy scouts, UPS has become the latest sponsor to pull their funding.

The United Parcel Service will be adopting a non-discrimination policy which will disqualify the BSA from future funding.
