Michelle Obama Heckled By Gay-Rights Activist During Democratic Fundraiser!

michelle obama heckled gay rights activist

Do NOT interrupt the first lady. Ever.

As it happens, Michelle Obama was in the middle of her 20-minute speech at a Democratic fundraiser in Washington D.C. tuesday when a gay-rights activist reportedly decided to butt in and speak her mind.

The heckler, later identified as Ellen Sturtz, a member of the GetEQUAL campaign group, demanded that President Obama sign an executive order in favor of federal equality.

Of course, Michelle didn’t just brush this off. She walked directly up to the protester and said:

Michele Bachmann Gets Glittered!

Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikPerezTVMichele Bachmann

Ha!

Last week, we heard all about a new profile of Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann, which revealed that she once thought an ex-nun and lesbian were attempting to kidnap her.

Later on in the profile, we heard the following quote from Michele about being gay:

"Any of you who have members of your family in the lifestyle, we have a member of our family that is. This is not funny. It's a very sad life. It's part of Satan, I think, to say that this is gay. Barbarians need to be educated. They need to be disciplined, and just because someone feels this or thinks this, doesn't mean that we're supposed to go down that road."

We found her comments to be absurd and disgusting…and evidently we weren't alone, because Bachmann was "glittered" (above) by a gay rights activist during a "conservative conference" in Minneapolis, Minn on Saturday.

Okay, so it wasn't the most effective glitter-job EVER, but hey…she tried!

Do U think Michele Bachmann deserved to get glittered for her anti-gay views?

Ugandan Gay Rights Activist Killed By Sex Partner? We're Not Convinced!

Filed under: Gay Gay GayR.I.P.Sad Sad

uganda gay rights activist not killed by hate says police

We find it VERY hard to believe that this could possibly be true.

According to Ugandan police, slain gay rights activist David Kato was not killed for his gay-rights campaign, but rather was murdered by a sex partner.

Gay rights activists in Kampala are skeptical, as they have feared for some time that their government might try to cover up the fact that Kato's death was hate-related.

The Ugandan police say they've arrested a man, Enock Nsubuga, who's "confessed" and claims he'd been staying at Kato's home after he was bailed out of jail by David on Jan 24.

Here's what Uganda's top police officer Inspector General Kale Kayihura had to say about it:

“According to the suspect, he negotiated with the deceased to be paid money as he was to be used as a sexual partner. The following day, Nsubuga confesses that he picked a hammer from the bathroom and hit him on the head. There is nothing concrete to suggest that Nsubuga was motivated by hate, although we are not dismissing it.”

We're still not convinced. It's gonna take more evidence to prove to us that David Kato's death wasn't hate-related.

Thoughts???

Gay Ugandan Woman Being Forced Back To Country Despite Violent Homophobic Murders!

gay-ungandan-woman-being-forced-back-to-country-despite-violent-homophobic-murders

Something needs to be done for this poor woman!

As if the shocking and horrific murder of Ugandan gay rights activist David Kato wasn't terrible enough, it seems that this tragic loss will only make matters gravely worse for lesbian Brenda Namigadde, who is currently facing deportation from the UK and back to the homophobic country, where she fears that she'll be killed upon arrival without Kato's presence!

Namigadde has been held at the Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre in Bedfordshire for the past two months, and is set to board a flight back to Uganda tomorrow night.

She revealed:

“I’m not feeling well at all, just worried. There is no hope. I am so broken. It makes me feel very bad. It’s really very scary to go back to Uganda. My life is gone as well. I am in danger. [Kato] is the one who was trying to stand for people.”

Absolutely sickening.

Unfortunately, British officials have yet to grant her asylum, under the argument that they have insufficient evidence that she is a lesbian. However, Mark Bromley, chair of the Council for Global Equality, seems to think that this might change if there is enough public outcry!

He explains:

"It seems like the changed circumstances [regarding Kato’s murder] would provide at least a temporary reprieve from deportation. In the past, public scrutiny and public outcry in the U.K. have been somewhat effective and have resulted in temporary reprieves."

Then as many people as possible need to speak up!

There has clearly been enough hatred in bloodshed in Uganda because of the people's horrific homophobia there!

PLEASE, do not let another poor person lose their lives because of something as minuscule as "insufficient evidence" of someone's sexual preference! How terrified for her life does she need to be to prove that she's telling the truth?!

Stay strong, Brenda. All hope is not lost yet.

Ugandan Gay Rights Activist Bludgeoned To Death

Filed under: Gay Gay GayR.I.P.Sad Sad

uganda-gay-rights-activist-david-kato-bludgeoned-to-death.jpg

This is terrible.

A Ugandan gay rights activist was bludgeoned to death in his home.

David Kato's name was listed as one of the nation's "top 100 homosexuals" in an a tabloid story that included a list of names along with photos, addresses, and a banner that read, "Hang Them."

A neighbor found Kato's body and notified authorities. Arrest warrants have been issued for two suspects: a taxi driver found near Kato's house and an ex-convict who was staying with Kato before the killing.

After the list was released last year, Kato had told sources that he feared for his life. "The villagers want to set my house ablaze," he said. "They want to burn my house. … (They say,) 'Can you go away before my house is burned?'"

Activists urged authorities in Uganda to investigate the killing and have called on the government to protect them from violence.

"David Kato's death is a tragic loss to the human rights community. David had faced the increased threats to Ugandan LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people bravely and will be sorely missed," said Maria Burnett, senior Africa researcher at Human Rights Watch.

The U.S. Mission in Kampala, Uganda, issued a statement saying it "mourns" Kato's death.

"The U.S. extends its sympathies to David's family, friends and human rights colleagues. David's courageous devotion to promoting the universal human rights of members of Uganda's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community improved the lives of minority populations in Uganda and throughout Africa, and his selfless dedication to defending human rights and speaking out against injustice served as inspiration to human rights defenders around the world."

This was such unnecessary violence and so unfortunate that a life was lost so tragically.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to David's family.
