Armie Hammer came so close and yet so far to playing Batman!

He was cast as the caped crime fighter in George Miller's Justice League Of America - a WB production with a $220 million budget! This movie would have been HUGE! But the 2007 writers strike changed all of that…

Don't feel too bad for Armie, though…

Even though his big break got busted, he landed on his feet with other roles that turned him into a star! But would he consider coming back as Batman for the studio's second shot at Justice League?

When asked about the possibility, Armie said:

It's Actually Happening! Mad Max: Fury Road To Start Filming In 2012

mad max starts filming in 2012

After all types of delays, it looks like the new Mad Max is now set to start filming next January.

Here's what director George Miller had to say about it:

“We will restart pre-production later this year and begin early next year—weather permitting. We’ve built the vehicles. We’ve designed the movie. The principal cast is locked in. The film is funded. It’s all ready to go. We just wait."

“All the contracts are signed. It’s a locked-in film. It has been for 18 months now. Ironically, had we been shooting in Broken Hill in January and February—when we were meant to—we would have been flooded out.”

Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron are set to star in the film, but Take Me Home Tonight star Teresa Palmer will most likely NOT be involved when the film starts up in January.

Here's what she had to say about it:

"I was in negotiations for that movie for a while but then I had I Am Number Four come up and then Mad Max went on hiatus so no I’m not involved in it at the moment.”

Ah well. We're sure Teresa would have been fine in the film, but we were kind of already won over as soon as we heard Tom Hardy's name!

Are U excited to hear that a new Mad Max is actually going to happen?

Sarah Silverman Fights For Healthy School Lunches

Go Sarah Silverman!

The comedienne is voicing her support for the Healthy School Meals Act of 2010, which promotes nutritious lunches in America's schools.

In a letter to Congressman George Miller, Silverman writes:

"I'm writing to you about something that has shocked and offended me. And trust me when I say it takes a lot to shock and offend me. Some of the foods we're feeding kids in schools are repulsive - and that unhealthy food is feeding the childhood obesity epidemic. All kids - vegetarian or not - should have healthy options. I think that we forget the simple fact that what we put in our bodies directly affects our bodies. Many kids aren't able to bring lunches from home - they have to eat what's in the lunch line. Without healthful options in the cafeteria, we're doing our children and the future of our country a great disservice. If we help children develop healthy habits early on, they'll have a lower risk of obesity, heart disease, and diabetes in the future. And that would mean lower health care costs. See? Only good comes from this. I know you're as serious as I am about helping kids succeed and stay healthy."

Couldn't have said it better ourselves!
