The excerpt is told from the perspective of Sansa Stark, and we finally meet a certain character who was first mentioned in the fourth book in the series, A Feast for Crows.

The highly anticipated novel will be the sixth installment of Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire saga. The writer still hasn't set a date for Winds just yet, but has sadly assured fans it will NOT be published this year.

Game Of Thrones The TV Show Will Officially Spoil The Books… But Not As Soon As You Might Think!

no title

It's no secret that Game of Thrones the TV show has been rapidly catching up to its source material.

The first book in George R.R. Martin's fantasy series was published way back in 1996, and to this day, he's only released five of the seven planned volumes.

Compared to HBO's fantasy series that is about to start its fifth season since premiering in 2011, it's safe to say that the televised version of the story is moving along at a much faster pace.

So, it didn't come as quite a surprise when GoT's show runners Dan Weiss and David Benioff announced over the weekend that the show would officially begin to spoil the books.

However, you may take some solace in the fact that nothing is going to ruin the sixth book until at least this time next year.

*** Obligatory Mild-Spoiler Warning***

Inneresting.

If you've ever been around a water cooler, then you know how rabidly obsessed Game of Thrones' fans are.

Well, being the dedicated readers/watchers they are, many of GoT's followers have been speculating on the true identity of a character who hasn't made it onto the HBO series; Coldhands.

The book in question, A Dance with Dragons, has been out since 2011 and, apparently, George R. R. Martin is tired of people asking if Coldhands is actually the missing Benjen Stark.

In fact, George got so fed up that when an editor penned the question, the writer responded in red ink, saying:

The definite lack of gay sex and bisexuality in George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire book series has been widely discussed, but never answered.

So now, the author is revealing exactly why that's the case — and we have a feeling it's going to make fans even MORE pissy!
