Corruption, Clinton, & Pee Tapes! Here Are The Biggest Takeaways From James Comey's ABC News Interview!

Filed under: TV NewsPolitikDonald TrumpHillary Clinton

Sunday night programming has taken on new life for Americans in 2018. If you're not watching American Idol or The Good Fight, you're watching a special interview about the moral bankruptcy of Donald Trump.

This week's edition of the latter featured none other than James Comey, the former FBI director who was fired by POTUS after he failed to drop the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Based on what we already know from his upcoming book, Comey's thoughts on the President are anything but flattering. But Comey made it clear just how little he thinks of the Commander in Chief in his Sunday night sit-down with ABC News, his first major interview since being fired last May.

Speaking to George Stephanopoulos at his Virginia home, Comey doubled down on his take of Trump being a volatile, immoral, mob boss of a leader who has no regard for law or order.

As for Trump's request that he drop the FBI's investigation into Flynn, which POTUS denies ever happened, Comey said "it's certainly some evidence of obstruction of justice."

But that was just the tip of the iceberg. Read on (below) to see what Comey had to say about the pee tape, Hillary Clinton's investigation, and more!

Donald Trump Calls James Comey An 'Untruthful Slime Ball' After Comey Details POTUS' Obsession With THAT Pee Tape In New Book!

no title

Donald Trump can't handle the truth — so, he's calling James Comey an "untruthful slime ball" and saying he should be prosecuted for allegedly leaking "CLASSIFIED information."

The President tried to discredit the former FBI director on Twitter Friday morning after scathing details from Comey's new book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership, were revealed.

Comey also opened up about the accusations he made in the book in an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, in which he said POTUS asked him to investigate those unforgettable "pee tape" allegations.

The former FBI director said he recalled discussing the infamous dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele with Trump on January 27, 2017. In case you repressed it, one of the claims made in the dossier was an alleged sexual encounter Trump had with prostitutes in Russia in 2013 that apparently involved golden showers.

In his ABC News interview, Comey said the president asked him to investigate the allegations and "prove that it didn't happen" — to reassure Melania Trump her husband wasn't a piss-covered cheater.

Comey recalled of the meeting:

Speaking to GMA's George Stephanopoulos on Friday, the 30 Rock star opened up about the day he got sober — February 23, 1985 — and the battle with drugs and alcohol leading up to that day:

"I'm glad I got it when I did ’cause not many people get sober when they're young. I got sober when I was just about to turn 27. And those two years that I lived in that white hot period, as a daily drug abuser, as a daily drinker… to my misery, boy, that was a tough time. There was really, really a lot of pain in there."

Drama Brews! Apparently Michael Strahan's Special 'Treatment' On GMA Is Pissing Off His Cohosts!

Michael Strahan can't seem to escape that daytime drama!

The former athlete notoriously blindsided Kelly Ripa last year by quitting Live! for a full time job on Good Morning America — and it looks like tensions may have followed him to his new time slot.

Sources are claiming that Strahan has been getting special treatment since joining the ABC morning show, and his fellow GMA anchors are sick of it!

According to Page Six, producers have been giving the affable anchor extra opportunities, while the veteran cohosts are left in the dust. An insider said:

"They roll out the carpet for [Strahan] while seasoned talent is treated like dirt. He's been given a lot of opportunity, flexibility, when the others who have been working there longer don't get that kind of treatment."

Some of this treatment could be Strahan signing a special deal that allows him to continue analyzing football at Fox NFL Sunday and to host ABC's $100,000 Pyramid.

But Strahan's additional GMA assignments are leaning on other anchors' territories — namely pop anchor Lara Spencer, who "feels like her role has been minimized with Strahan." The source added:

We'd be getting tired of this shit by now too, girl.

Say what you will about Kellyanne Conway, but she's spent the past six months playing verbal fencing matches with the press over Donald Trump's racist rhetoric and alarming policies.

But following the administration's latest controversy, the White House counselor is clearly starting to feel the impact of being the mouthpiece to a sleazy businessman who isn't trying to hide his shady dealings.

On Tuesday's Today show, Kellyanne got an earful from Matt Lauer over the White House's inconsistencies in the scandal surrounding Michael Flynn.

The national security adviser resigned on Monday after admitting to making pre-inauguration phone calls with a Russian ambassador and discussing lifting U.S. sanctions — then misleading Mike Pence on what the conversation was about.

In the interview, Conway claimed that "the key" to Flynn's resignation was his "misleading" the Vice President — but Lauer didn't let her off the hook, saying that the White House was already informed about Flynn's dishonesty by the Justice Department last month.

After Conway tried her usual verbal jujitsu to come up with a convincing non-response, Lauer took off the gloves and

Donald Trump Might Be Kicking The Press Out Of The White House — And Reporters Are NOT Happy About It!

no title

This feels like the beginning of the end of Freedom of the Press

Over the weekend, Esquire reported that three senior officials on Donald Trump's transition team say the incoming Administration is seriously considering a plan to kick the press corps out of the White House.

One official told the magazine that, if the plan is approved, the media will no longer gather in the White House press room, but will instead either assemble at the White House Conference Center near Lafayette Square or the Old Executive Office Building next door.

Incoming press secretary Sean Spicer told Esquire nothing is set in stone yet, saying:

"There has been no decision. There has been some discussion about how to do it."

However, Sean justified the possible move by claiming there just isn't enough room in the White House press room, adding:
