One Direction VIsits Ghana Gets Slammed For Comments

While many saw One Direction’s recent charity trip to Ghana as an act of kindness, others viewed it as an inaccurate depiction of their country!

We previously showed you the pic of 1D in Ghana and told you about group member Niall Horan’s tweet, which stated his realization that poverty is indeed VERY real.

Now it looks like Niall’s tweet didn’t quite go over so well with the country’s celebrities, who interpreted it as him saying ALL of Ghana is impoverished.

One Ghanaian actress, Ama K. Abebrese, blasted off tweets to Niall, which read:

One Direction Visit Ghana, Niall Horan Realizes Poverty Exists

Hoh man…

Cheeky musical quintet One Direction took a sneaky, secret visit to an impoverished region of Ghana a few days ago as part of the UK's Red Nose Day/Comic Relief effort, which helps raise money to alleviate poverty…

And not only did the boyband members enjoy their trip — where they also filmed scenes for a Comic Relief music video cover of Blondie's One Way or Another — it seems the dudes also learned a thing or two about the state of the world!

Nice!

In fact, the band's newest legal driver Niall Horan apparently had an "a ha" moment, as evidenced by his tweet:

Awww Niall! SO cute in the most naive sort of way!

Niall's "life changing" experience even caused him to

britain to stop aiding african countries that persecute gays

This is what we like to hear!

Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron has announced that the UK will be drastically cutting aid to ALL African countries that persecute gays.

Thus far, Britain's International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell has cut Malawi's aid by £19 million for the country's persecution against two gay men, who were sentenced to fourteen years of hard labor. Fortunately, the men have now been freed.

In an effort to further support Prime Minister Cameron, Andrew Mitchell has also threatened to "impose further aid 'fines' against Uganda and Ghana for hardline anti-gay and lesbian measures."

Here's what a spokesperson for Mitchell had to say about it:

Elephant Tails & Dried Hedgehog Siezed At Washington DC Airport!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & True

A man was stopped going through customs at Dulles International Airport in Washington DC after elephant tails and a dried hedgehog were found in his suitcase.

WTF!?

The man from Ghana said they were for "spiritual purposes", but never declared them on his customs form. Instead he referred to them as dried herbs and clothing.

Umm, big difference pal.

The items were eventually burned after customs officials believed they could be carrying diseases.

Ick!
