Whaaaa?!

We can't even imagine what Gilmore Girls would be like without Luke! But apparently, Perezcious readers, that was almost the case!

Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Scott Patterson's character was actually supposed to be a woman!

The showrunner confessed that Luke was almost a woman named Daisy, but that didn't sit well with The WB, saying:

"Luke was originally a female character. [The network] came to me and said we need another guy, so I literally just took a character and changed the name, didn't even change any of the dialogue because I'm that lazy."

LOLz!

But we can't help but wonder how the popular series would have turned out without the constant romantic tension between Luke and Lauren Graham's Lorelei.

Well, according to Amy, that love story was never in the plan! She spilled:

Gilmore Girls Revival Is A Wrinkly Quilt Of Quick-Talking Nostalgia — With An Ending Fans Always Deserved! Read The Review Roundup!

It's been almost a full decade since Lorelai and Rory Gilmore executed their signature rapid-fire repartee while discussing love, life and happiness — and thankfully, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life fills that void in all its small-town glory.

At least, that's what most of the critics had to say in the first round of reviews for the highly-anticipated Netflix revival series!

Fans of the original WB dramedy have to wait until November 25 to see Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel return to Stars Hollow, but the lucky reviewers who got a first look at the four-part miniseries say it's well worth the wait!

While most critics agree the cast seamlessly fit back into their hyper-caffeinated characters, there was also a consensus that the 90-minute episodes felt a bit drawn out and muddled down by extensive cameos.

Like most TV reboots, Gilmore Girls also felt a little stuck in the past — and while the pop-culture references were updated to include Kardashians and man-buns, viewers felt some storylines were forced, sacrificing character development for fan-service.

But on the whole, critics seemed to agree: the Girls are back in town, and fans will NOT be disappointed!

We are SO ready for the Gilmore Girls reboot on Netflix!

As many of you are already aware, that's mostly because the entire cast — except for the late Edward Herrmann — has returned to be in the revival. Yup, even Melissa McCarthy.

It was a little up in the air on whether or not the Oscar nominee was going to be able to return to her role as chef Sookie St. James at first… but thankfully, back in April, the 46-year-old confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres that she would indeed be playing Lorelai Gilmore's bestie once more. Phew!

And it seems it didn't take long for everyone to get back into the groove of things as Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham opened up to Entertainment Tonight about what it was like returning to their old set on the Warner Brothers lot.

So many options, so little time.

Ever since Netflix announced the Gilmore Girls revival, fans have been chomping at the bit to find out who Rory Glimore (Alexis Bledel) will end up with.

As diehard fans remember, Rory rejected Logan Huntzberger's (Matt Czuchry) proposal following her graduation from Yale and ultimately chose to pursue her burgeoning journalism career over wedded bliss.

That's because in addition to finally revealing some plot — rest in peace, Richard/Edward Herrmann — we're happy to say Kelly Bishop's role looks much larger than we originally realized!

Plus, with appearances from Melissa McCarthy, Milo Ventimiglia, Liza Weil, and Jared Padelecki's iconic characters, Rory won't even have time to mourn her grandfather's passing for long.

Although, we're not so sure how we feel about this Luke & Lorelai update…

We're really looking forward to the Gilmore Girls revival coming November 25… but did Netflix spend so much money recreating Stars Hollow that they only had $40 left in the budget for promotional material??

The streaming giant dropped four brand new season-themed posters for Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life on Tuesday, and they are just so godawfully cheap-looking!

First of all, it for real looks like they took the pics in about eight minutes' time.

Seriously — Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are literally standing in front of a blank, blue backdrop, looking like they were told to react as if someone was throwing digital leaves and snow and sh*t at them.
