Well, we think it's safe to say that the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences must be kicking themselves right now!

And if they're not, they SHOULD be!

Because after being NOTICEABLY snubbed from the "Best Director" category of the upcoming Academy Awards for his truly magnificent work on Argo, Ben Affleck was named outstanding director for the flick at the 65th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards last night in El Lay, beating out Kathryn Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty, Tom Hooper for Les Miserables, Ang Lee for Life of Pi and Steven Spielberg for Lincoln!

But what's most telling - at least to us - about the win is that it marks the THIRD time since the DGA Awards started in 1948 that its 15,000 members have voted in this category for a nominee that has been up for the Oscar!

Frankly, between this and the Golden Globe, we're just glad to see that he's being recognized for his outstanding work!

It's MORE than deserved, Ben!

And we think VERY telling of how the Academy might vote for your flick in the categories for which it HAS been nominated!

But only time will confirm that!

It's true!! The HIGHlariously twisted star of Parks and Recreation plans to publish a non-linear, illustrated diary filled with all sorts of awesomeness!

The newly single gal hit up the Golden Globes 2013 after party and ran into none other than The Bieb's old playmate Barbara Palvin.

The Victoria’s Secret model, who was speculated to have been the other woman who spurred the end the dreamy couple, recently suggested that Selena was "ridiculous" for accusing her of hooking up with the petite Boyfriend singer.

But despite it all, the two beauties were photographed in what looked to be a SERIOUS conversation (below) on Sunday night, and we can’t even begin to ponder what they had to say to each other!!!

If Selena didn't prove she was a brilliant actress in the critically acclaimed Monte Carlo, she certainly has now! She spotted by party spies going from scowl to kissy face quicker than Taylor Swift got over Harry Styles.

Or maybe Selena really beliebed Babs' innocence and these two are actually Hollywood's newest BFFs?!

Yeah… no. No, no, no!

While on the red carpet, Julia Louis-Dreyfus admitted that she won't walk away tonight with the globe for Best Performance By An Actress for her role on Veep.

We've got news for her — that's not the only award you won't be walking away with. A best dressed award is also not in her future…!

Julia made her way down the carpet in a custom black and nude gown by Vera Wang, that featured hand appliquéd floral chantilly lace, with a gathered silk tulle overlay and wrapped horsehair belt.

Besides being too long, her makeup doesn't complement the look at all; and while she has the bust for a sweetheart neckline, could it have killed her to put a necklace on? Give it just a little POP?

Just not her night, we guess! Oh well!

Surprised to hear that Barbra Streisand's performance in her new movie The Guilt Trip ISN'T Golden Globe-worthy?!

Apparently, the studio responsible for its release, Paramount Pictures, was!

Because while the nominations for this year's ceremony weren't announced until yesterday morning, a promo for the comedy co-starring Seth Rogen appeared on the internet Wednesday night, praising the legendary icon for her revealed-to-NONEXISTENT accolade!

Obviously, the minute poor Babs didn't make her way into any of the categories, Paramount pulled the clip from rotation and released the following statement:
