Wyclef Jean Says He Was 'Scared For His Life' & Calls For 'Formal Investigation Into Racial Profiling' After Being Mistakenly Detained In LA
Wyclef Jean is speaking out about his scary encounter with the police in West Hollywood in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
ICYMI, the singer was pulled over after cops matched his vehicle and description from a reported armed robbery at a nearby gas station. He was detained in handcuffs for six minutes, allegedly without any idea of what was going on, before being released. The real suspects were later found and arrested just a few blocks away.
On Wednesday, the 47-year-old went on Good Morning America to tell his side of the story, and to call for a formal investigation into racial profiling.
