It was a GREAT night for the music biz at the Billboard Music Awards!!!

Top artists— like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Madonna, and Nicki Minaj— came together in hopes of winning a trophy, but there were just TOO many EPIC performances for all of the accolades to be presented on the MGM stage!!!

So WHO walked away a prestigious award???!!!!

Let's be honest, no one outside the Grammy committee actually knows the difference between Record of the Year & Song of the Year!

But who gives a flying fudge!?

Gotye just took the stage AGAIN and Prince handed him the cute little phonograph!!

AH-MAZING!

Somebody That I Used to Know was stuck in our head for eight solid months so CLEARLY it is a well deserved honor!!

Their victory wasn't a cake walk, either!!

He beat out The Black Keys, Kelly Clarkson, FUN. featuring Janelle Monáe, & the girl who hasn't sat down once tonight, Taylor Swift!

Congratz, Gotye! Good luck writing an even more popular song to defend your title next year!

UPDATE: Gotye won ANOTHER Grammy tonight for the year's Best Alternative Album, Making Mirrors!

This is less a mash-up and much MORE-SO an INSPIRED re-working of various pieces of music, all fit together to perfectly recreate a BRILLIANT original composition!
