The subject of Serial has just received a decision that may be a total game changer!
Adnan Syed was convicted in 2000 for the murder of his ex-girlfriend and has been serving a life sentence at Western Maryland state prison ever since.
But when the podcast Serial reopened the case on their own terms and became super popular - a lot of attention was brought back on the cold case.
And now the Maryland Court of Special Appeals totes approved his application for leave to appeal this past Friday on the basis that his former lawyer Christina Gutierrez was ineffective.

Ellen DeGeneres recently had a special "appearance" on Game of Thrones that she admitted was pretty "hush, hush" but she debuted the clip on her show and it is HIGHlarious!

The take-over continues!
The US Patent Office has officially granted Facebook's application for the trademark for the word "face," despite it being opposed by Aaron Greenspan, the man who took Mark Zuckerberg to court over the social networking site's creation back in the day!
However, the Patent Office, or USPTO, has granted the site a Notice of Allowance, which means that so long as they pay an issue fee to them within the next three months, the word "face" belongs to Facebook so long as it involves "[t]elecommunication services, namely, providing online chat rooms and electronic bulletin boards for transmission of messages among computer users in the field of general interest and concerning social and entertainment subject matter, none primarily featuring or relating to motoring or to cars."
Well, so much for any chance at copycat social networking sites!
