Hmm… we wonder if John Mayer's rumored split from Katy Perry has anything to do with his decision to go on a musical walkabout across the Americas?! Or maybe it was the reason the pair called it quits in the first place!!

The bluesy crooner has announced that he will embark on his first MAJOR tour since finding out about a nasty, career-effecting throat granuloma almost three years ago!!

Back in February, John revealed that he was planning on doing a small, 18-stop deal, but it seems he needs to stretch his peen legs, as he's turned his "spring tour" into a fully fledged, cross-continental extravaganza!

John's Born & Raised 40-stop musical explosion initially ignites at an already sold out show in Tuscaloosa, AL on April 25th and wraps October 5th at the Hollywood Bowl in LA!

And that's where he will propose to Katy Kat in front of EVERYONE after distance has made both of their hearts grow fonder

LOLzz! In our dreamz!

Ch-ch-check out the FULL list of Johnny's tour dates …AFTER THE JUMP!!!

John Mayer's Voice Makes Love To His Guitar LIVE For The FIRST TIME In 2 Years! WATCH HERE!

Filed under: Music MinuteJohn MayerKaty PerryPerezTV

We've seen John Mayer fingering his guitar strings recently when he accompanied Frank Ocean on Saturday Night Live

But woe to the world, cause a nasty throat problem called Granuloma has prevented Mayer from singing live for almost two years!

UNTIL NOW.

During a benefit concert held in honor of those firefighters who fought the raging Pine Creek wildfire last summer in Montana — a benefit that Mayer organized himself — Katy Perry's latest lover treated the audience to a VERY special presentation…

Himself singing Speak For Me off of Born and Raised (above)!!!

And for having a nasty vocal chord problem, Johnny boy doesn't sound too bad!

SO glad to hear that seductive voice of yours, John…

No wonder you've been able to bag the likes of Katy Kat AND Taylor Swift!

John Mayer On Vocal Rest After Throat Surgery

John Mayer

Musical heartthrob John Mayer underwent surgery last Thursday to treat his throat condition, known as Granuloma.

He had tried alternatives to treat the inflamed nodule near his vocal cord in an effort to avoid an operation, but had no luck, explaining:

"It’s been a very long process in waiting to see if time was an alternative to surgery, but even given two weeks’ voice rest (along with many other approaches), there was no change for the better."

He is now recovering after the successful surgery and is on "complete vocal rest for a month or more." Unfortunately for fans, this means a delay for his upcoming album Born and Raised.

While he's resting his voice, the singer says he's "taking off". More specifically, he plans on "going to travel the country, look, and listen."

We hope this month goes by quick because we can't wait to hear John's new material!

John Mayer Delays Album Release Due To Throat Condition!

Filed under: Music MinuteJohn MayerSad Sad

Oh no!

John Mayer revealed yesterday that due to a throat condition, he's been forced to cancel not only his upcoming singing engagements, but also delay the release of his new album, Born and Raised!

He writes:

Hi everyone,

After several months of going week to week monitoring and hoping to correct the condition, I am forced to cancel my upcoming singing engagements due to something next to my vocal cords called a granuloma.

I’m bummed to have to bow out of both the iheartradio Music Festival in Las Vegas and an appearance with Tony Bennett in Los Angeles. I know there were people depending on me to be there and I’m sorry that I can’t be on those stages.

Born and Raised’ is complete as far as music recording, song selection, and in some cases mixing, but because of this condition I couldn’t finish singing on several of the tracks. This means the record will be released next year instead of this fall or winter.

This is a temporary setback, though I’m not sure how long or short a period of time it will be. I’ve got the best doctors in the country looking after me and I will be singing and touring again as soon as I get the all clear. Until then I’ll be spending time writing and composing more music and kicking an empty soup can around the West Village.

I’m looking forward to seeing you again soon. Until then take good care.

John

Poor thing!

These things do happen, sometimes, though, and we're sure your voice will be much better off in the long run if you take the time now to take care of yourself!

Feel better!
