Looks like Kid Rock has caused some turmoil within NAACP.
Supporters of the group are planning to boycott their "Detroit arm's annual fundraiser" because they'll be honoring Kid Rock, who "doesn't mesh with the civil rights group's goals."
Many NAACP supporters have issues with Kid Rock because of his use of the Confederate flag during concerts, and as a result, they'll be sitting out from the fundraiser, where Kid will receive the "Detroit branch's Great Expectations Award."
Here's what head of Detroiters for Progress Adolph Mongo had to say about the misuse of the confederate flag:
"It's a slap in the face for anyone who fought for civil rights in this country. It's a symbol of hatred and bigotry."
And here's what NAACP officials had to say in Kid Rock's defense:
"Kid Rock…has consistently lifted up the Great Expectations of many persons…concerning the future of the city."
Do U think Kid Rock deserves the honor? Or do U also take issue with his usage of the Confederate flag during concerts?
