What a SLAP in the face to the poor!

Leroy Fick of Auburn, Michigan won a $2 million lottery prize 11 months ago, but still uses food stamps to pay for groceries.

Michigan senator Rick Jones is not happy about it either, saying:

"For Leroy Fick to continue to use a Bridge Card, paid for by the taxpayers, after winning the lottery, is obscene. What a waste of taxpayer money."

Unfortunately, there is nothing he can do about it! Leroy's blatant abuse of the social welfare program is completely legal.

Food stamp eligibility is based on gross income, but excludes liquid assets. Take a lucky guess what lottery winnings are considered?

As long as Fick's gross income stays below the eligibility requirement for food stamps, he can continue to abuse them as he sees fit.

Sounds like the biggest problem here, besides Leroy Fick (doesn't that just sound like a bad guy's name in a movie?), is the federal government's requirements for obtaining food stamps.

Fortunately, Sen. Jones is taking action, explaining:

"The department is asking the federal government for an immediate change (in policy). They're hoping this case will help the federal government act."

As for now, we think this Fick guy needs a visit from the ghost's of the lottery's past, present, and future!

There is already SO MUCH wasteful spending in the government, why continue to be a part of the problem when he could EASILY be a part of the solution.

Michael Douglas' ex-wife Diandra Douglas hit him hard in their divorce, where she reportedly got $45 million from the actor.

Now, Diandra has spoken up about the divorce, explaining that she went after so much money because she got schemed by Bernie Madoff and Kenneth Starr.

Here's what she had to say about it:

"Because of the type of human being I aspire to be, if Starr & Company hadn't happened and Madoff hadn't, and if a lot of other things hadn't happened, to tell you the honest truth, I really believe I would have walked away."

And here's Diandra on Michael's recent battle with throat cancer:

"Michael didn't know he was ill, I didn't know he was ill, and the gods didn't know he was ill. I am not into going after sick people for things that don't belong to me."

And more from Diandra:

"I am not a greedy person by nature."

Hmm…would she have really just walked away if she hadn't been schemed by Madoff and Starr? Based on everything we've heard about this over time, we're not 100% convinced.

Coty Inc.'s put the kibosh on developing a George Clooney fragrance.

The silver fox was said to be in talks with perfumer, but his business peeps were asking for WAY too much money.

George's team reportedly wanted a multi-year deal worth more than $30 million.

Seriously!?

A source explained:

"George seemed to be not that keen, unless the deal really made it worth his while. But Coty pulled out, saying this figure made the deal impossible."

Whatevs, it's not like the department stores needed another celebrity fragrance anyway.

Donny and Marie Osmond have settled a lawsuit with the producer of their Las Vegas show after he accused them of breach of contract, unjust enrichment, fraud, and defamation.

Chip Lightman claims that the siblings backed out of a contract that had extended their variety act, The Donny & Marie Show, at the Flamingo Hotel until 2012. He went so far as calling Donny "devious, fraudulent, and greedy" and alleged that he "concocted a scheme" to avoid paying him and demanded that he accept a 50% pay cut if he wanted to keep his job.

Looks like Chip has had a change of heart because he's dismissed the complaint and has settled with The Osmonds for an undisclosed amount.

He's also released a statement, apologizing for his harsh comments. It reads, "I am pleased we were able to resolve this matter and am sorry that, in the heat of battle, comments may have been made that were hurtful to the Osmonds."

In turn, Donny also released a statement on behalf of him and Marie, saying, "My sister and I want to thank Chip Lightman for great contributions he made in launching our show at the Flamingo. We look forward to the opportunity to work with him again in the future."

Wow, that's really decent of Donny to want to continue working with a man who called him "devious" and "greedy!"
