Chris Pratt Lands Lead In Guardians Of The Galaxy!!!!

Bert Macklin CHRIS PRATT REPORTING FOR DUTY!!

We couldn't be more excited for this news, you guys — not only is James Gunn directing the next big Marvel franchise, Guardians of the Galaxy, but he just landed his leading man: Chris Pratt!

If you're wondering who that is, you must not watch Parks & Rec., and in that case, what the hell is wrong with you?? Ha!

He's also in Zero Dark Thirty and Moneyball! The only way this day could get better is if we heard that H. Jon Benjamin, Billy West, or John DiMaggio was going to voice Rocket Raccoon!

Oh — that might sound weird if you don't know what Guardians is all about: Quill (Chris) is a half alien/half human astronaut who becomes the Starlord, leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. The rest of the team includes Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Gamora.

None of the other roles have be filled yet. Because Rocket is indeed a Raccoon, he'll be animated… so they need a voice actor! LOLz!

Seriously… we didn't even know Chris was in the running! This is fab news!

Now it's time to see if speculation is right in that Iron Man 3 will connect to the movie somehow — May can't get here soon enough!! AAAHHH!!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Rejects Guardians Of The Galaxy Over A Dame To Kill For!

joseph-gordon-levitt-drops-out-of-casting-guardians-of-the-galaxy-for-a-dame-to-kill-for

Okay, so we have some bad news, folks!

But don't worry! We'll get it out of the way first, so we can get straight to the GOOD stuff!

Although we were super excited to hear that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in the running for the role of Peter Quill in one of the new Marvel super-hero movies currently being developed, Guardians of the Galaxy, we're sad to report that the actor has bowed out of the casting race due to scheduling conflicts!

Oh, but what scheduling conflicts might THOSE be?!

Only the much-anticipated, long-awaited follow-up to Robert Rodriguez's Sin City, A Dame To Kill For!

That's right!

The super sexy actor will apparently be playing the role

Marvel Director Apologizes For Less-Than-Heroic Characterization Of Gay & Female Superheroes!

james gunn guardians of the galaxy apology sexist homophobic blog comments marvel director

Whoops! His bad!!

James Gunn, director of the upcoming Disney/Marvel flick Guardians of the Galaxy, shat the bed and he doesn't deny it.

Instead of slipping out in the middle of the night and leaving us with feces covered sheets, the filmmaker stuck around to do the wash.

After recent attention was drawn to a satirical but ultimately unfunny/offensive blog post he made last year, he's offering the world his retraction and apology via Facebook.

The post, titled The 50 Superheroes You Most Want to Have Sex With, graphically detailed ways in which he might bang (or be banged by) the sexiest guys and gals in comics.

In regards to Flash, for example, James wrote

Marvel Threatens/Bribes Fan Who Knew Too Much

Guardians of the Galaxy Threatening Letter from Marvel to Latino Review

We now know a Guardians of the Galaxy film is in the works.

Marvel's film division intended to announce the good news at Comic-Con 2012. Unfortunately for them, the story broke earlier via Latino Review.

The film division of the comic book company didn't cry over spilled milk. They beefed up internal security and moved on to the next item on their agenda.

Oh, wait. That's what happened in an alternate universe where people who run companies behave civilly and rationally.

In THIS universe, Marvel tasked its vice president of loss prevention with making the life of Latino Review's editor a living hell until he gave up the confidential source who supplied him with the inside scoop.

In a strongly hostile letter, the VP had this to say (emphasis added by us):

Marvel's Next Gigantic Blockbuster Will (Probably) Be Guardians Of The Galaxy In 2014!

Marvel making guardians of the galaxy

After the unprecedented success of The Avengers, Marvel is thinking bigger and maybe even better.

Following Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and Captain America 2, sources are reporting that the studio is releasing a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, even though Marvel hasn't officially confirmed yet.

We've been hearing rumors about this possible adaptation for quite some time now, but people put it together after Disney announced on Tuesday that an untitled Marvel movie's release date was changed from May 16, 2014 to August 1, 2014.

Remember that big, mean-looking purple dude at the end of The Avengers? Everyone who didn't immediately recognize him probably Googled him to discover that he's a super dangerous galactic villain named Thanos.

We assumed he'd be the next guy trying to invade earth, but it turns out
