Steps are finally being taken to protect our children from gun violence!

It's been nearly four months since Adam Lanza murdered 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School — today Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy signed a bill aimed at preventing similar tragedies.

The law bans the sale of over 100 different guns and also magazines, such as the ones Adam used, that hold more than ten rounds.

Connecticut House majority leader Joe Aresimowicz is proud of the new legislation. He said

Jim Carrey dropped a hottttt new track the other day, which we covered for you — it was a song about gun control, done in a Hee Haw parody! Honestly, it was harmless while getting Jim's personal views across.

Fox News on the other hand took it as a personal slight and has been losing their shizz over it the past few days, regardless of literally all other stories being way more important news! Isn't there something going on in the Supreme Court right now or something…? LOLz!

Anyway, Jim has responded to their bashing! Here's what he said:

We're serious about it when we say Jim Carrey goes Hee Haw in his bid to stand up to those who are against gun control!

The last time we were hearing Jim talk about guns, he was doing it in a not-so-flattering way on Twitter, so we're glad he's going the comedy route this time to get his point across!

Oh, and he does a pretty AMAZEBALLZ Charlton Heston impression!!

You gotta hear it! Plus, regardless of your stance, you know you love a little Jim as an entertainer! Admit it! Ha!

Bruce Willis took a break from shooting bad guys to shoot his mouth off about gun control recently.

The A Good Day To Die Hard star said:

"I think that you can't start to pick apart anything out of the Bill of Rights without thinking that it's all going to become undone. If you take one out or change one law, then why wouldn't they take all your rights away from you?"

Yippee-kay-yeah, oh…. We hope you tied a firehose around your handsome self before falling down that slippery slope!

By that logic, wouldn't we have to allow people to own nuclear weapons, or else the whole system will crumble!? We already tailor the laws to within reason! The argument is just about where the line should be drawn.

So what does Bruce believe will help end America's problem with gun violence? He says:

You'd think that as much time as the National Rifle Association spends firing guns, they'd at least be accurate!

But their new ad really misses the mark, going after President Barack Obama through his children!

The ad suggests states that the POTUS is a hypocrite for promoting more gun control while Sasha and Malia are protected by armed guards at their school.

It sounds like a valid argument on the surface, but the truth is, it's a false equivalency.

As high priority targets, the First Family NEEDS security detail! Not only to protect against national security threats who might want to use them as leverage, but also against domestic threats.

Like, say, gun owners being oversaturated with images of their president as a dangerous dictator.

The truth is simple math- fewer guns in the hands of unstable people means fewer gun deaths at the hands of unstable people.

And if the NRA would just listen to reason, they wouldn't have to try to create their own!

President Barack Obama is proposing a $500 million set of laws to create stricter limits on guns, including smaller magazines, no more armor piercing, and reinstating the assault weapons ban.

But until Congress passes those recommendations, the Prez is signing a set of executive actions that will take place immediately. He says:

"If there's even one thing we can do to reduce this violence, if there's even one life that can be saved, then we've got an obligation to try."

The things POTUS thinks we can do include keeping guns out of unstable and criminal hands by strengthening the background check system and making schools safer by developing emergency plans and hiring more resource officers.
