In case you aren't familiar, the project is a screen adaptation of the classic 1959 musical by Jule Styne, Stephen Sondheim, and Arthur Laurents.
Gypsy — based on the 1957 memoir of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee – centers around Mama Rose — played by the legendary actress herself — and her two young daughters, Baby June and Louise, who try to become stars!
Streisand is writing the adaptation with Richard LaGravanese, and is producing with Joel Silver through his company, Silver Pictures. Barry Levinson will direct.
Get ready to be entertained!
