This is such good news!
On Tuesday, The Carter Center released a statement about former president Jimmy Carter's fight against cancer, and it looks like he just won a small victory!
The Center said:
"President Carter has received good news from his Winship Cancer Institute doctors. They tell him that recent tests have shown there is no evidence of new malignancy, and his original problem is responding well to treatment. Further tests will continue."
Basically, that means the disease has stopped spreading through the 91-year-old's body! And we're thrilled to learn that treatment is going well!
In fact, a spokesperson for the politician even admitted that the 39th president has been doing quite a bit of work, in spite of the diagnosis, adding:
"He remains active at The Carter Center and just last week spent a day building homes in Memphis with his wife, Rosalynn, for Habitat for Humanity."
We're so happy Jimmy seems to be getting better!
