Happy Days Actor Al Molinaro Has Passed Away At 96

So sad.

On Thursday, Al Molinaro passed away at a hospital in Wisconsin. According to his son, the Happy Days alum was suffering from gallstones, but decided that — since he was 96 years old — he didn't want to have surgery.

The actor was on the popular sitcom for ten years, playing Al Delvecchio, AKA Big Al, the chef at Arnold's Drive-In who eventually went on to own the establishment.

The thespian also maintained his role in the spinoff Joanie Loves Chachi, in which he iconically set up long-winded stories by saying:

"Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep…"

He also appeared in the 1976 film Freaky Friday, The Odd Couple, and even Weezer's Buddy Holly music video. The Wisconsin native later retired from acting in 1992.

Al is survived by his wife, Betty Ferrell, and his son Michael. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tragic loss.

Happy Days Cast Suing CBS

Today is not such a happy one for CBS.

Four members from the original cast of Happy Days are suing CBS for fraud and breach of contract, claiming they have not been paid for merchandise spawned from the show from the past decade.

As Happy Days continues to be one of the most beloved series in the history of TV, merchandise is still popping up with the faces of The Fonz, The Cunnighams and the rest of the gang brandished on it. Recently, the show was integrated into the Vegas casinos as Happy Days slot machines were installed - and that was the final straw.

Check out the video (above) to hear Marion Ross, Erin Moran, Anson Williams and Don Most explain to CNN their reasons behind their lawsuit and why they are forging ahead with it in the memory of the late Tom Bosley, who played Howard Cunningham.

They've got a case, for sure. They deserve what is rightfully theirs.
