Raven-Symoné Doesn't Think Harriet Tubman Should Be On The $20 Bill Because She's Not Progressive Enough?!
That's so Raven?!
Recently, a grassroots campaign called "Women On 20s" started a viral frenzy when they proposed that former president Andrew Jackson be taken off the $20 bill and replaced with African-American abolitionist Harriet Tubman — who during the 1800s used the Underground Railroad to rescue approximately seventy family and friends from slavery.
Well apparently Tubman's work just doesn't impress Raven-Symoné!
On Wednesday's episode of The View, the former child star revealed that she didn't like the idea of putting the historical legend on such currency!
"No offense to everyone that's going to be mad at me for saying this, I don't like that idea… I think we need to move a little bit more forward. Let me just preface that I understand the history, I get it, trust me, I was taught, I was in that culture… I would've chosen Rosa Parks."
As to why she would've chosen Parks over Harriet Tubman, the 29-year-old believes the former is more progressive and more in-line with our current political landscape:
