Emma Watson Donates $1.4 Million To U.K.-Based Anti-Sexual Harassment Campaign!

emma watson donates a million anti sexual harassment fund

Emma Watson is such a wonderful role model.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that the Harry Potter alum donated £1 million (approximately $1.4 million) to the Justice and Equality Fund. This U.K.-based organization was founded to fight against sexual harassment, assault, and discrimination. The foundation was inspired by the #MeToo and Time's Up movements.

Although, the Beauty and the Beast actress' donation isn't necessarily surprising as she's already done an extensive amount of women's rights advocacy work. Watson's charitable gift was joined by Keira Knightley and Emma Thompson's donations.

Dumbledore Will Not Be 'Explicitly' Gay In Fantastic Beasts, And Fans Are FUCKING LIVID!

no title

So yeah, remember that whole thing where J.K. Rowling FINALLY offered LGBT fans of the Harry Potter universe a bit of representation by saying Dumbledore was gay.

Only, you know, never mentioning it in the books, just after the fact?

Well, it looks like the Fantastic Beasts films will continue that "don't ask, don't spell" policy with hot Dumbledore Jude Law.

When Entertainment Weekly asked The Crimes Of Grindelwald director David Yates if we would finally get concrete reference to the wizard's sexual orientation, he disappointingly said:

"Not explicitly. But I think all the fans are aware of that. He had a very intense relationship with Grindelwald when they were young men. They fell in love with each other's ideas, and ideology and each other."

See, don't worry, guys! It's 2018, we can get away with weakly implied homosexuality, just so long as all our homophobic fans don't have to face it! Progress!

Naturally, fans let their feelings about the insult be known on Twitter — see some of the strongest reactions (below)!

#BlackHogwarts Is Trending On Twitter — & The Posts Are Honestly Beautiful!

black hogwarts trending

There is no denying there has been a diversity problem in the Harry Potter franchise.

We mean, in the films, pretty much ALL of the main characters were portrayed by white actors and actresses. While recent casting efforts in spin off projects — re: black Hermione in the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child — show that J.K. Rowling's Wizarding world isn't totally white washed, there's still more inclusivity efforts that can be done.
