This is absolutely awful!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been a huge success and sparked a new generation of fans.

The only problem is, kids who are just discovering the galaxy far, far away haven't been able to easily get their hands on one of their favorite characters from the flick, Rey (Daisy Ridley).

While we've reported on both Hasbro action figures as well as the Star Wars-themed Monopoly game leaving out the lead character, we now have a bit more insight as to why this happened!

According to a toy industry insider who wished to stay anonymous, the toy companies were "specifically directed to exclude her"!

Star Wars Monopoly FINALLY Adding Rey After Major Backlash!

star wars monopoly rey added hasbro game

It's about time!

As we previously reported, Hasbro made a MAJOR flub AGAIN by leaving out the character of Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, from their newly released Star Wars-themed Monopoly game.

The company had previously failed to include the lead female character from The Force Awakens in certain toy sets and instead included generic stormtroopers.

Both of their blunders caused fans to take to social media and complain about the missing main character by using the hashtags #WheresRey and #WhereIsRey.

Apparently the toy company has received so much backlash that they decided to do something about it! They're now going to include the fan-favorite character of Rey in an updated version of the game!

A spokesperson for Hasbro released a statement saying:

Female Star Wars Toys 'Flying Off Shelves' — Or Being Left Out In The First Place??

This is absurd!

There has been quite a bit of backlash online revolving around the lack of female Star Wars characters missing from action figure sets.

Sound familiar? It should if you're a fan of Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, who got similar treatment from Disney toy lines earlier this year!

Social media users have taken to Twitter and Instagram to share pictures of box sets (above) of the characters being sold in a set which somehow leaves out Daisy Ridley's Rey — who's the MAIN CHARACTER in the film!

In fact, Hasbro — one of the toy manufacturers — even includes a generic stormtrooper and a Tie Fighter Pilot but not Gwendoline Christie's Captain Phasma who's supposed to return for sequels!

Well retailers are trying to cover their tracks by saying:

The force of this father's love may awaken some feels in you!

Back in 2004 Albin Johnson, a longtime Star Wars fan, and his wife (above) took their daughter Katie to the doctors and found out she had an inoperable brain tumor.

After the diagnosis, Albin, the founder of the 501st Legion — who make Star Wars costumes from the films and visit hospitals and other charities — decided to create an R2 unit for his daughter to watch over her.

So There's Going To Be A Play-Doh Movie… And Bridesmaids Director Paul Feig Is Doing It??

no title

Word on the street is 20th Century Fox is making a deal with Hasbro to make a live-action film based on one of their best products:

Play-Doh!

We guess the Lego movie was so successful, they feel they can make any toy into a movie. Wonderful. (Sarcasm.)

Though if there were one person (other than the team of Phil Lord & Chris Miller, who did the Lego movie) who could make the Play-Doh movie amazing, it'd probably be Paul Feig.

Even though Feig is super busy with the all-woman Ghostbusters reboot, we're sure he'll make time for Play-Doh.

But can Feig mold Play-Doh into an enjoyable film? Especially a live-action film??

We guess we'll have to wait and see.

Do U think Play-Doh will make a good movie?? Let us know in the comments!!

Elmo Will Remain On The Shelves This Holiday Season, Despite His Puppet Master's Alleged Scandal!

hasbro-supports-elmo-despite-kevin-clash-scandal sesame street toys christmas

Ain't nothin' gonna break his stride! Nobody's gonna slow him down, oh-no!

He's got to keep on movin'!

We're talking about Elmo, of course! Moving off department store shelves!

And despite the Kevin Clash underage sex scandal(s) and his subsequent resignation from Sesame Street, toy conglomerate Hasbro hopes to sell as many little red dolls as possible this holiday season.

One Hasbro spokesperson admitted:

"Sesame Street and its wonderful characters have been entertaining and educating children and families for more than 40 years. We are confident that Elmo will remain an integral part of Sesame Street and that Sesame Street toys will continue to delight children for years to come."

We don't blame them for wanting to make money, obvi, it's what companies do.

But is it wise to continue marketing a children's product which will be forever associated with lewd acts against minors, however unfounded the scandal may eventually show itself to be??

With so much negative stigma attached to Elmo because of the allegations against the character's puppeteer, it's hard to imagine parents deciding on that toy.

Especially since they'll need to shell out $40 to get LOL Elmo, a.k.a. Tickle Me Elmo 2.0!!

Now it just seems like an awkward present for a kid to unwrap under their Christmas tree or Chanukah bush!
