He stared in the Oscar-winning movie about dolphin-killing in Japan with Hayden Panettiere, but Ric O'Barry's fight against dolphin hunting isn't over.
Recently Cove star traveled to the tiny island Miyakejima - a place were dolphins are are only used for tourism (and never killed for soup)! The actor gushed over the dolphin paradise, saying:
"It's very encouraging to see people celebrating dolphins, respecting dolphins, and I'm all for that. We support them all the way."
You can support the dolphin loving people of Miyakejima by visiting the island of 2,700 people south of Tokyo. O'Barry hopes that a rise in tourism will encourage eastern islands to adopt the same dolphin-friendly policy.
Right now the famous dolphin activist is headed back to the same town in Taiji that his notorious documentary The Cove was shot, to protest the annual dolphin hunt that's set to starts Sept. 1.

How can someone so cute also be nice??
At 22-years-old, actress Hayden Panettiere has already done a lot for fave animals by becoming a spokeswoman for the Whaleman Foundation.
The blonde starlet talks all about her love for marine animals in the September issue of Conde Nast Traveler, where she describes herself to the magazine as "realistic activist." She says:
"I'm an activist who's aware of what's realistic to achieve and what's not. I wouldn't waste my time going straight for the jugular — I'm not going to preach to people to not eat meat. The Whaleman Foundation's goals are achievable, and they make sense."
We totally respect that!
If you wanna see Panettiere talking about nighttime slaughter of dolphins check out Conde Nast Traveler or rent the Oscar-winning documentary The Cove.
