In today's "no duh" of the century, science says that getting off the couch and watching less TV can be good for your health!
Notice the sarcasm?
But wait… it seems like watching less TV might actually make a bigger difference in our lives than we previously thought.
Many people tend to snack on junk food while watching TV so stopping tons of couch riding tends to stop the junk flow.
During the study, people upped their fruit and veggie intake and watched less TV for 3 weeks.
The most surprising part was a 6 month follow up where researchers found that many participants had actually run with their new lifestyle and watched even less TV and ate more and more healthy food.
One of the researchers said:
"We found people can make very large changes in a very short amount of time and maintain them pretty darn well. It's a lot more feasible than we thought."
