Watching Less TV Can Be Good For Your Health??

In today's "no duh" of the century, science says that getting off the couch and watching less TV can be good for your health!

Uh… really??????

Notice the sarcasm?

But wait… it seems like watching less TV might actually make a bigger difference in our lives than we previously thought.

Many people tend to snack on junk food while watching TV so stopping tons of couch riding tends to stop the junk flow.

During the study, people upped their fruit and veggie intake and watched less TV for 3 weeks.

The most surprising part was a 6 month follow up where researchers found that many participants had actually run with their new lifestyle and watched even less TV and ate more and more healthy food.

One of the researchers said:

"We found people can make very large changes in a very short amount of time and maintain them pretty darn well. It's a lot more feasible than we thought."

Hear that people?

Just shut off the TV! Get up off your couch! Go live your life!

Google Hides Their Desserts To Keep Employees Healthy!

Google Best Company

Google is a nice place to work, apparently!

Why?

Well, among other reasons, they put the desserts they offer behind a wall — so it's harder for people to indulge!

"[We’ve been] making sure we have really healthy food for people. We started putting the desserts around a wall, just around the corner. We have doctors on site. We’d like to do more of that, where we really make health care convenient and easy and faster, which I think helps people stay healthy."

And that's exactly why Google tops the annual list of Fortune's 100 best companies to work for!

So cool!

More places need to take initiative like this! Health is super important, and it's great for business — less sick days! Ha!

Janet Jackson Was Told To Diet At Age 11

Janet Jackson 11 Diet

Janet Jackson, the new face of Nutrisystem, was on GMA and revealed that at the age of 11, she had been told to go on a diet.

She even admitted that her body image problems stemmed from Michael making fun of her weight.

For the show Good Times, it was the wardrobe woman who would put her down. Her chest had to be bound because she was "developing too quickly." And then the next season, she was flat out told to lose weight.

She said it was because of finding comfort in food too often:

“Sometimes even healthy food. But too much. I could very easily pick myself apart. That’s what I did.”

And that's the motivation behind joining Nutrisystem (along with being well paid, we assume!):

"It’s a matter of maintenance and keeping the weight off. My success plan was to feel good about myself and be healthy.”

That's the best way to look at it — and if you can help others in the process, even better!

We're glad you were able to get through it all, that's for sure!
