If there’s anyone we'd like to see make an Inch into something bigger, it’s Neil Patrick Harris!
As we reported last month, the Emmy Award-winning actor will be taking his talents back to Broadway to star in next year’s production of one of our personal faves, Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
So how does NPH plan to prep for the all the AH-mazing singing/dancing/gender bending the show requires? He said this weekend at the premiere of his new movie, The Smurfs 2:

Excuse us for a second. We need to catch our breath. Holy. SHIZ!!!
Neil Patrick Harris will be returning to Broadway! And his Great White Way homecoming is happening next spring in one of our FAVORITE shows of all time - Hedwig and the Angry Inch!!!
If his latest stint as the Tonys host taught us anything, it's that this man BELONGS on the stage!
In case you don't know, Hedwig and the Angry Inch is about a transgender rock star and first premiered off-Broadway in 1998. John Cameron Mitchell who wrote the book and starred in the original production gave NPH his blessing today, saying:

The hit off-Broadway musical and cult classic Hedwig and the Angry Inch is going to take on Broadway with writer John Cameron Mitchell reprising the role of Hedwig!
"Hedwig is ageless. But I'm almost 47, which means I'm at the gym every day, trying to get my old body back, my paunch down and my stamina up. I haven't acted since I did the movie.
"The role is so hard and so challenging that it made me give up acting and concentrate on writing and directing. It's like Hamlet. Except that Hamlet doesn't have to sing 15 great songs. In a dress."
The revival won't be the same as the first with the original team thinking up new ways to fashion the show on Broadway, including a potential storyline that has Hedwig playing a one-night only show at a Broadway house.
Mitchell also added about his character:
"There's no questions that Lady GaGa and Hedwig are from the same clan."
