Jail must be pretty lonely…

Jodi Arias is awaiting the death penalty phase of her murder conviction in Arizona for killing her boyfriend Travis Alexander, but she’s making some bizarre claims.

First, Jodi says that while in Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s care, she was given a Tuberculosis shot with a dirty needle, which gave her Hepatitis C.

AND Miz Arias claims that when her left silicone breast implant started leaking, she wasn’t given medical care, and developed a fungus as a result. Oh, and apparently

Serial Infector May Have Given Thousands Hepatitis C

David Kwiatkowski, a former lab technician, has been given the title "serial infector" after possibly exposing thousands of people to his hepatitis C.

He worked at different hospitals in eight states where he would steal syringes full of anesthetic, inject himself, then refill the syringe with saline and put it back on the shelf.

So he would get high and then cover his tracks, which would leave infected needles in the hospital.

That's disgusting.

Luckily this man has been caught and is now in jail, facing some serious charges.

The state Department of Health and Human Services and its Division of Public Health Services are now testing people who might have been exposed to see if they were infected.

We hope those who were infected find out soon and get the help they need.

Hepatitis C Is Killing More Americans Than HIV!

Hep C

While HIV-related deaths have decreased significantly thanks to increased awareness and safe sex education, another disease is silently taking 15,000 American lives a year. Hepatitis C is now killing more people than HIV, but the problem is that victims of this disease rarely see it coming.

Three quarters of the people who died from Hepatitis C in 2007 were between the ages of 45 and 64. An infection can go unnoticed for years and can cause serious damage before patients decided to seek treatment, as the CDC explained:

“Hepatitis C virus infection is often asymptomatic or causes nonspecific symptoms (depression, arthralgia and fatigue) for decades."

That means there is another problem too. People who are infected, but don't know they are infected, could unknowingly be spreading it to others through exposure to blood or sexual contact.

The CDC estimates that those born between 1945 and 1964 are at the highest risk for infection. Unless more baby boomers who may have become infected in their younger days get checked out, experts fear "deaths from HCV are forecasted to increase to 35,000 annually by 2030.”

Scary! Remember, it's never a bad idea to get yourself screened for any and all diseases!
