Muslim Celebs Who Are Not Here For Trump's Immigrant Ban!

no title

Hear, hear, Mahershala Ali!

Last week, the actor picked up two SAG Awards — one for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Moonlight, another as a part of the ensemble cast of Hidden Figures.

In his solo speech, the 42-year-old subtly blasted Donald Trump's immigrant ban, speaking out against the "persecution" of people for being different and telling the story of coming out as Muslim to his mother.

While Ali may be one of the only Muslim celebs who actually spoke out on the xenophobic executive order, he is far from the only celeb who practices the religion.

Zayn Malik, Shaquille O'Neal, and Janet Jackson are just a few stars who were born into or converted to Islam — find out more (below)!

'Love Wins!' And So Does Hidden Figures! Watch Taraji P. Henson Fire Up The SAG Awards Stage!

SAG Awards 2017 - Cast Motion Picture by Videosuploaded123

Yass!

We don't know why the cast of Hidden Figures was so shocked to win Best Ensemble at the SAG Awards. They brought the story of the unsung heroes of NASA to life with such heart and truth, they seemed as likely a cast as any to us.

After they beat out Captain Fantastic, Moonlight, Fences, and Manchester By The Sea, the talented cast — including Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae, Mahershala Ali, Kirsten Dunst, and Jim Parsons — took the stage and wasted no time.

But it was Taraji P. Henson who spoke with the ferocity of Cookie Lyon and the intelligence of Katherine Goble, saying:

"When we put our differences aside and we come together as a human race, we win. Love wins every time."

Oscars less white!!!

The Oscar nominations came out early Tuesday, and we're still getting over all the shocks and snubs from this year's batch of nominees.

Among the most pleasant of surprises came from Best Supporting Actress category — as Viola Davis, Naomie Harris, and Octavia Spencer made history with their nominations!

Davis, Harris, and Spencer were all big contenders for their work in Fences, Moonlight, and Hidden Figures, respectively; but their official nominations are so special because it marks the first time three black women have been nominated in an acting category!

Not only that, but their nods mark the first time three black people have been distinct nominees in any category, PERIOD.

So, basically, the 89th Academy Awards is the first time black nominees are the majority in a category at the Oscars — while Michelle Williams and Nicole Kidman are the minority!

This isn't the first time three people of color have been nominated in acting categories: the 1984 Oscars nominated

Hidden Figures and Fences may both be about American race relations in the 1950s and '60s, but they are NOT the same movie, people!
