Survey Reveals Women Feel 47 Is Too Old For Bikini

Women in Bikinis

A new study of 2,000 women found the majority wouldn't feel comfortable wearing a bikini once they reach 47-years-old AND frown upon other women that do.

Similarly, women feel that miniskirts are a "no-no" on anyone 35 or older and that high heels should not be worn by anyone over 51.

Kind of strict, don't ya think? We believe in being fit for life and that a woman can wear anything she wants as long as SHE feels comfortable.

However, one in two women also believe that if a woman is slim, healthy, and attractive into her 50's and 60's, she can "get away with anything".

Confidence, ladies! Don't turn to society for your wardrobe choices. Look in the mirror and if you think you look good, then wear it out!

Teenage Boy Sent To Principal's Office For Wearing Heels

teenage-boy-asked-to-take-off-high-heels-at-school.jpg

Really?

A teenage high school student in Florida was sent to the principal's office because of his shoes.

The boy's teacher called principal Bob Heilmann to complain, saying the Riverview High School student's high heels were "disrupting class".

After meeting with the student in his office, Heilmann asked him to take the shoes off even though they make him feel confident.

The principal said of his decision:

"As a principal of a high school, I have to take the paternal side and make sure he's going to be okay. Anytime anyone goes out from, quote, 'the norm' or anytime anyone wants to make a statement, you have to be willing to take what comes with it."

As for the rest of the school, they didn't think the student's choice of shoes was a big deal.

Doctor's Warning: High Heels Cause Snapped Ligaments

high heels damaging womens feel

But they are so fierce!

Despite Lady GaGa's affinity for her McQueenadillos, not every lady can handle sky high heels. It turns out they can be hazardous to your health, even though footwear is only getting higher!

"We have entered a moment of heightened impracticality in footwear," said Elizabeth Semmelhack, author of Heights of Fashion: A History of the Elevated Shoe.

Heels may elongate legs and make women feel long and lean, but they also cause ankle injuries, hammertoes and severe pain.
Doctors know their patients will wear the torturous footwear anyway.

Podiatrist Dr. Martin Alongi said:

"It's partly why we have a job. I just figure women in their 20s are going to do it. If they take care of their feet all the other time, most people can get away with it. There's going to be an occasional person who injures themselves."

Despite the options of sandals, platforms, wedges and solid heels, many women just can't give them up - and they are paying for it!

President of the American Podiatric Medical Association Dr. Kathleen Stone advises against wearing heels higher than 2 inches.

She added:

"It's very difficult, not only on the foot, but the knees and low back. The way the shoes put pressure on the front part on your feet, it applies compression on your toes and irritation to the nerves in the toes."

Constant pressure on the feet can cause thickening of tissues around the nerves of the toes, which results in pain, stinging or numbness. Not only can the bones of the feet be damaged or broken, but doing vigorous activities in heels may overstretch ankle ligaments - or even worse, cause them to snap!

Scary! Take care of your tootsies, ladies.
