Happy 25th Anniversary, Home Alone: 25 Lessons The Movie Taught A Generation!

no title

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the John Hughes classic Home Alone, which taught kids everywhere that they could defend their homes from robbers with a little ingenuity!

Of course, the "Wet Bandits" in the film — played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern — were literally the most incompetent robbers in the history of the world!

For example, when Harry sneaks in through the back door to Kevin's house, he unknowingly arms a blowtorch that fires at the top of his head!

Instead of removing his head from the flames, he screams for about seven seconds — and would likely get burned so bad that his skull would melt into his brain!

That's pretty dark stuff for a kids movie — but we love this film anyway! Celebrate the Home Alone-iversary by checking out 25 other lessons we learned from the film!

We would have loved to see this in person!

Macaulay Culkin and Catherine O'Hara may have played mother and son a whole 25 years ago, but that doesn't mean they still don't see each other.

That's because on Tuesday night's episode of Watch What Happens Live!, Andy Cohen asked Catherine if she kept in touch with her 34-year-old co-star, and she shared a funny story about bumping into him in France in 2014.

This Seven-Year-Old Boy Got To Stay At Home All Alone — With His Mom's Permission! Would YOU Let A Child That Age Do That?

seven year old stays at home by himself

Is it legal for a seven-year-old child to stay at home by themselves? According to the laws of New York, it is.

While many parents may think seven is far too young to leave their child at home alone, Lizzie Heiselt, a mother of three young children does just that — but not after doing some considerable research herself!

At first, the mommy blogger had some hesitations when her eldest child asked to stay home and not have to go out and run errands with his mom and two younger siblings.

Naturally, Lizzie started to worry about what her neighbor would think, a possible run-in with CPS, things that could

9-Year-Old Boy Pulls A Real Life Home Alone By Getting Lost In NYC And He LOVED It!

Chris Villavicencio had the best day of his life when he got lost in NYC!

At this point we're pretty much all aware of the awful parenting in the McCallister family that left poor little Kevin home all by himself not once, but TWICE, to defend himself against dangerous armed robbers!

Well for one 9-year-old boy in New York, this big screen scenario played out for him in REAL LIFE! Sort of…

Oscar-Winning Classic The Sting Is Coming To Broadway! Wait, Really?!? Here Are 11 Other Movies That In No Way Need A Musical Adaptation!

the sting

Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE us some musicals!

But there are some movies that just aren’t meant to be on Broadway!

It was just announced that the latest flick to find a place on The Great White Way is The Sting and we’re sort of scratching our heads as to why oh why they would adapt this Oscar-winning classic into a musical?!

The 1973 film starring Robert Redford and Paul Newman tells the story of two con artists who set out to scam a mob boss in Depression-era Chicago.

We’ve definitely got our doubts that the Best Picture winner The Sting will sing its way to musical glory, although anything is possible!

Here are 11 other movies we hope NEVER make their way onto a New York City stage…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Macaulay Culkin Flaunts Flannel, Chin Scruff, & Long Hair In London!! See Him On His Way To Band Practice HERE!

We can't say we approve of the cigarette in his hand, but otherwise it's really good to see Macaulay Culkin out and about!

The former child star was spotted through the London fog earlier this week, rocking a t-shirt, jeans, and red and black flannel on his way to practice with his band, Pizza Underground.

Between the casual outfit, the oversized sunglasses, the bulky headphones, and all that long hair/chin scruff, we're wondering why the 33-year-old actor-turned-rocker was trying to stay incognito?

We know films often premiere later in the U.K. — maybe Home Alone is just getting big over there and he's shielding himself from paparazzi?

Or perhaps he's trying to avoid the wrath of the recently released "party monster," Michael Alig.

Either way, it's good to see Mac taking it to the streets!
